I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm a Cayuga/Metis (Iroquois) descendant born in France (Lorraine) from french/Iroquois father and portuguese/Irish mother who also has Hispanic/Native American background and Touareg (Sub-Saharan), divorced, with two children, Ivan who's 25 and a computer and sound genius, and my daughter Iddy - 17, who is a dancer/singer/actress. I'm a former dancer and singer, and now I'm writing poetry, painting and working as a therapist. I have the ITEC (International Therapy Examination Council) Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Body Massage and an ITEC Certificate in Indian Head Massage, plus certificates from the Beaumont College of Natural Medicine for Sports Massage and Crystal Healing. I'm also a Reiki Master. My Native American blood gave me a special connection with nature, and I love animals, especially wolves and dogs. I don't believe in nations, but in humanity as a whole. I've spent my first years in Algeria, during the war, living with the touaregs in the Great Sahara. Moved to Paris, then to Lisbon at the age of 8. When I was 15 I started studying Opera at the Theatre of Sao Carlos in Lisbon. At 17 I've moved to Madrid where I did flamenco dancing, at 22 I was working as a professional photographer for Espaco T magazine in Lisbon, at 24 I moved to Ithaca (New York State) to study Visual Arts at Cornell University, and then to New York one year later where I did jazz dancing, and started singing jazz. I've stayed there for 2 years, moving then to England where I've lived for 12 years and did lots of singing for small rock bands and many painting exhibitions, some of them at the London Design Centre and at Poole Arts Centre. I've also studied there all my therapies. I'm now in Portugal until I will decide to move again. I'm a real nomad, can't stand staying in the same place for too long. But as my children are living in the UK, I'm always back and forth. I love travelling and mixing with people. I'm also writing a lot of poetry, in French and Portuguese. I just have a book done ready to be published, together with a portuguese poet. I'm currently training stained glass window making. .. type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="never" allowNetworking="all" height="320" width="426" data="http://lads.myspace.com/slides/slideshow_random.swf?u= 148850099" Vsrc="http://lads.myspace.com/slides/slideshow_random.swf?u= 148850099" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="426" height="320" wmode="transparent" ..

Ocean ecosystems are in trouble all over the world, and the Bering Sea, source of half the seafood caught in the US, is no exception. The explosive growth of Alaska’s pollock fishery since the 1960s has been followed by major declines of the marine mammals that depend on pollock, including endangered steller sea lions, northern fur seals, and pacific harbor seals. Steller sea lion populations have dropped by almost 90%. People are suffering, too. Fishermen are traveling farther and farther offshore looking for fish and crab that were once plentiful right off the beach, facing increasing risks for diminishing returns.
Take Action!
Greenpeace is in the Bering Sea right now, conducting research and working with native communities to protect the ecosytems of the Bering. The Bering Sea is home to some of the largest submarine canyons in the world, unseen by human eyes and thought to be home to undiscovered creatures found nowhere else on earth. Greenpeace is exploring these canyon habitats with manned deep-sea submersibles as part of our effort to make a strong case for conservation of these threatened areas.
Alaska's billion-dollar fishing industry is one of the most closely monitored in the world, but the poster child of U.S. fisheries management is in serious need of attention. Fortunately, the situation in Alaska's waters is not as dire as it is elsewhere. It is not too late to protect Alaska’s ecosystems, fisheries, and communities, and you can help.
Help Save The Bering!
Peace

I'd like to meet:

Anybody who is full of potential and wants to use it. I believe when we have talent we must make the full use of it. I like to introduce people, especially musicians to do projects together. I believe in cultures fusion.

Music:

Alternative rock, hip-hop, soul, classical (I'm classically trained, and play the violin, cello, guitar and celtic harp), and all the arabic/north african music - Algerian Rai all the african music. I love jazz, but especially if it's a fusion with world music.

Movies:

Good movies from great directors - no bullshit!

Television:

I have no patience for TV, it's getting worse and worse each day.

Books:

I read a lot, so I like many writers, but my very favourites at the moment are Amin Maalouf and Tahar Ben Jelloun. And of course I love the poetry of the great Persian poet Omar Khayam.

Heroes:

All the Algerian people who died to save my life and my mum's during the war. They are an incredible people! And of course the people where I come from, the Native American. Those are my roots, ones from the blood and the heart and the others related to my childhood.
