Born Nathan B. Clemons in Stratford, Connecticut on June 21, 1972, Phenomenal, so named by his former manager Richard Byrd as well as artists because of the level music he created. Phenomenal has held membership in production companies from super-producer Clark Kent's Supermen Productions, to Manuel Seal's production house, to Clemons Brothers Entertainment, a production company founded by himself and his brother Big Mike Clemons, to being CEO of his own label, Elokim Records a division of his media company Elokim Global Entertainment, which also embodies Elokim Music Publishing, Vision Quest Media, Sound Factory Recording Studios and Phenomenal Muzik Productions.
Mary J. Blige's hit single "Give Me You", produced by The Clemons Brothers and Manuel Seal, written by Diane Warren introduced Mary in a new light to the pop audience. Phenomenal's versatility broadened with the combination of R&B and hip hop mixed with gospel and orchestral arrangements and blended together with complex rhythm, sound effects and percussion placements. At the same time, his partnership with Manuel Seal and Big Mike blossomed into a team that delivered Aaron Hall's gold single "All the Places I Will Kiss You" and they became one of music's most sought after production/songwriting teams.
Along the way he moved from Atlanta Georgia, and built several studios in Durham, North Carolina where he lives and does most of his production, and has acquired a publishing deal with Disney Music Publishing and with The Royalty Network. Since being called to Christ, in 2006 he founded a new label, appropriately called Elokim Records a division of Elokim Global Entertainment. Open to all types of Gospel and Christian artists, EGE will debut with a bang in 2008. Several artists are currently in the studio completing projects with the mega-producer.
Phenomenal's genre breaking has made him a force in gospel and Christian music today, and he takes pride in staying ahead of the curve with his originality and experimentation. On the personal side, this producer is very active in ministry and committed to the work of the Lord, and as serious about ministry as he is about his time making music.
"You can accomplish anything you put your mind to and stay focused. Good producers create hot beats. Great producers, however, create a sound. They have a point of view, a lasting impression…" explains Phenomenal, an innovator who continues to raise the bar in Christian music while adventurously expanding his musical boundaries.
