Here we are halfway through 2008. So far, it has been an awesome year. I turned fourteen in January, and time is just flying by! I’ve been working with amazing producers and writers. AND I’ve finally gotten a vocal coach – Renee Grant Williams. She is amazing to work with. Also…I’ll be in the studio later this summer recording three new songs. Added to the list of performances coming up, I can honestly say life is great!
I guess the biggest news of the summer – We bought a home near Nashville. So that means no more hotels! YAY!!! It’s in a beautiful area and our family loves it here. Especially my small dog, a Chihuahua named Lexi. She loves the sun and the heat almost as much as my two hairless cats Sassy and Socko.
Fanfest has wrapped up for another year, it was so much fun. My band came down from Canada to back me up at all the fanfest venues. 62 North – thank you so much for your dedication and attention to detail. I couldn’t have done it without you. I’m looking forward to opening for Jason Blaine later in the summer. And I’ll be heading to the Illinois State Fair to do a show with Taylor Ware.
None of this would ever have been possible without a very special person that came into my life - Doug Montgomery. This all started when Doug heard me singing on the school bus! He taught me to sing "classic country songs" (11 to be exact) and booked me to sing at the local jamborees. Things took off from there.
In December 2006 at 12 years old - I was awarded the Grand Prize at The KX96 Super Star Search Contest. The qualifying rounds were held for ten weeks at the Corral in Oshawa! With the finals - held in December. The Grand Prize - a recording session with CCMA award winning producer Mike Francis. I was honoured to make it to the finals. To win - was an experience I will never forget! Not only have I been supported by the amazing people at KX96 but my single "Worth The Wait" has gotten terrific airplay across Canada! It has opened the door for my follow up single - "First Kiss", which is doing incredible in it’s first weeks! I’d like to thank KX96 for all the continued support !!!
I was introduced to the troupe "Stars on Stage" through Peter Hopper. Peter heard me singing, and was so excited - he called Kevin Smith, and held the phone towards the stage - that was my first introduction to this awesome group of people! "Stars on Stage" gave me so much experience and tips on performing. Most memorable - the weekend we played "SHOWPLACE THEATRE†-- It was unbelievable to be on that stage, in that venue, and part of that show!!! I can't thank Kevin and Vanessa Smith, Matt Blundell, Peter Hopper and Morris Turney enough for everything they've done for me!
Without the help and support of my amazing family, nothing would be possible!! Mom and Dad - I cannot thank you enough for always being in my corner - no matter WHAT! You encourage and support me and I thank you for that! My sister Amanda inspires me with all her clothes and designer style. :) She does my hair for every event and I thank her for her patience. I love ya buggie! x0x My brother Billy is soo supportive when I sing. He truly means it when he says..."I don't know how you get up there and do that?" (This coming from a professional motocross racer!!)

Every time I perform I learn something new. I love meeting new people. I am so thankful that I have been blessed with opportunities to sing which is what I love to do.
