Jan. 2009...62 North has made some big changes for 2009. Our musician lineup has changed, and our direction has changed..... We have no regrets about anything the band has done from 2003-2008, and we learned so much! Our set lists have changed from covering mostly "New" & Top 40 country to playing kick ass classics, from the likes of Johnny Cash, Hank Sr. & Hank Jr., Waylon Jennings, George Jones, and really anything that is REAL country. We dont play ANY new country now, most of our cover songs are over 25 years old LOL! We of course are always working on and performing original songs as well!

62 NORTH The band has recently had a line up change, leaving Dylan Mader on bass and lead vocals and DJ Brown on drums as the only two permanent and founding members. The two have started another seperate band with a Rock direction, but continue to book Country shows as 62 North. Currently, Justin Mader has joined the summer '09 line up on rhythm guitar and vocals. The band also utilizes guest players for lead guitar, pedal steel, keyboards and fiddle ,depending on the venue. The band originally started playing together over 15 years ago. They have explored many different genres, but started playing primarily Country in 2003. In 2007 they recorded a ‘live’ demo CD at Andy Thompson’s Northumberland Music Studio in Warkworth. 2007 also marked the band beginning to play consistent live shows, entertaining country music fans.
In late 2007, 62 North formed a relationship with local up & comer, Brenda Mullen & her family. They backed her up at her CD release party in Peterborough, and went on to work with her for several shows throughout 2008. The highlight of summer 2008 was being Brenda’s band when she opened for Jason Blaine at The Peterborough Festival of Lights on Aug.02, 2008.
62 North is very excited about the band’s opportunities in 2009. The band about good times and good honest music. They look forward to playing and entertaining country music fans on the local music scene with their repertoire of hits and original music. From there who knows, as long as they are doing what they love: playing music! They are ready to rock and hope to see YOU at their show!
