About Me

I am a major supporter of Philly local music, or perhaps I should say independent music in general. I am currently out on a US/Canadian tour with the band IamX (find them in my top 20). The band is taking me around the country in 30 days hitting 23 cities. So far I am having a great time, seeing some places I have never been before (Northwest US), meeting all kinds of great people. I love the life on the road, in a tour bus that is.So here is a little background on me...I grew up in Virginia Beach VA. My senior year of high school I was taken to the suburbs of Philadelphia... obviously it wasn't my choice, but have come to love Philly and now call it home. My life is in Philly and so is the work... lots of it. I am a bit of a work-a-holic, but when you like what you do, it isn't so bad. I am an audio engineer. That means I get to listen to all kinds of music all day long as well as take care of the gear that makes them sound so good. I have been working the sound boards in Philly for about ten years now. I worked at Sonic Recording Studios, the original Barbary nightclub, The Trocadero, Electric Factory Concerts, Grape Street, and many other clubs regionally. Yes I will tour with a band I like and can get along with... if you are interested hit me up. I am currently production manager and sound tech at Grape Street Philadelphia as well as own and manage BurnDown, LLC. BurnDown is an independent production company and recording studio. The studio is located in the Germantown Section of Philly Check out My Top Friends for the link to the studio's myspace.Layout made by REtRO bLENd at CreateBlog.com .

My Interests

My Interests are... Music first and foremost, a night off every once in a while to get my brain working again, movies, traveling to new places, meeting interesting people who are sincere, and taking long walks with my puppy Samson.

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

I'd like to meet:

hmmmm....not everyone, that would be too many names to remember and I have a hard enough time as it is! Interesting and honest people who find something in common with me(yes honesty is key), other sound people (please tell me there are other good sound chics out there), some good hard working bands who care about a real fan base... not a computer generated one - just cause you have a million myspace friends doesn't mean 5000 people will come see your show.

Music:

Ok.. I get asked what I listen to a lot. The answer is everything. But I am a product of pop music. I grew up on old school hip-hop and pop. My mom brought me folk, my dad brought me country, and my brother brought me a huge list of styles that continues to grow today. He is the reason I got into the music biz... it was really his passion for music that kept me interested. But here is what I am currently listening to :Stephen Marley, Damien Marley, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Sting, The Roots, Soul Coughing, Jack Johnson, Citizen Cope, Ben Harper, Les Claypool, Janes Addiction, Fiona Apple, and since I finally got my Ipod going... lots more. Unsigned bands that you should get to know.. BurnDown All-Stars, Dave Quicks, Kill The Alarm, No More Kings, Three The Hard Way, SOJA, Fat City Reprise, Ike, Jim Boggia, Josh Dion, London File, Ryan Montbleau, Head, Laura Lea, Mia Johnson, Pawnshop Roses, Fooling April, .. If you know a band I should check out... send me a message.

Movies:

I just like going to the movies... it's like an escape from reality and sometimes reality just sucks.

Television:

Yeah I am a TV junkie, but I mostly watch movies. But TV shows I am into now are Lost, 24, Entourage, The L Word.

Books:

lately haven't had time to read.. i left this blank for a long time and now I feel like I have to put something. I am reading Maya Angelou's Why the Caged Bird Sings now. I like Dan Brown, Kerouac, Mitch Album (easy read, but great stories), John Grisham, and more if I have them time and motivation.

Heroes:

My mom- anyone who can deal with me like she has must be a hero. That and she has shown me what love is all about. My pop-pop. He isn't with us anymore, but I swear he is my guardian angel. He is the strongest man I knew. As my grandma would say... why aren't they made like him anymore? My dad- The man had quite a life and I miss him dearly. Stubborness can be good sometimes, that is what I carry with me from him. That and some damn good looks... :)
