Diastole news, April 2008:
---The Diastole t-shirts are here and ready for sale! The t-shirts are printed by a company who also prints t-shirts for Warner Music Benelux. This means, quality t-shirts with a quality print. The t-shirts are Fruit Of The Loom Valueweight t-shirts and they are available in navy blue with a grey print and heather grey with a black print. Available sizes are S, M, L and XL. Diastole news, March 2008:
---At the advice of a dental specialist, all of Arjen's wisdom teeth have to be removed. Because of this Arjen is probably not going to be able to sing for a while. So we won't be doing any gigs in May.
---We have ordered our very first Diastole t-shirts. We will have them in about 4 weeks. The t-shirts are going to be available in the sizes S,M,L and XL. For the design and the available colours, check the pictures in our "Other" folder.
---We registered the band for "De Grote Prijs van Nederland". "De Grote Prijs van Nederland" is a national contest for bands and other artists. To make a long story short, in July we will know if we made it to the half finals.

OngekendTalent is an organization / project / program that offers bands a chance to be heard by the big wigs and get more attention from the Dutch music industry. ---We have registered the band at the Popronde. The Popronde is a sort of contest, giving bands that get picked for the Popronde, the chance to do a little national tour. We will know in May if we got picked.
BIOGRAPHY:
Diastole is an alternative rock band with noise influences originating from Groningen, the Netherlands. Diastole formed in late 1997 and had a lot of different drummers and names over the years. The current members of Diastole are: Arjen Roffel (guitar / vocals), Reid van der Velde (bass) and Stephen Luters (drums / backing vocals). Diastole is known for their energetic, explosive performance characterised by an aggressive way of playing and musically violent shows often ending up in noise soundscapes and abusing instruments and other equipment. Diastole thinks there is nothing more beautiful than an amplifier about to explode, because it and other instruments are being driven to their limits. With energetic, explosive drums, ripping, pumping bass, screaming, in distortion soaked guitar and melodramatic, tortured vocals they are one of the last bands in the Netherlands influenced by the early to mid nineties "Seattle grunge scene". Now in 2008 Diastole is more alive than ever. They are currently working on new songs to return back to the studio later this year.
