How I Started:I was born in Yorkshire, England but at the age of twelve I moved south with my parents to a town just north of London and have remained in the area ever since.I suppose that as a young person I was a bit adventurous and courted the bikers on several occasions but I never had my boyfriend's name tattooed on my behind which I later found out was customary at that time. This was probably because I was never asked and knew nothing about tattooing at the time.It wasn't until I went to a tattoo convention in 1986 with my husband that I really became interested in tattooing. This came about as I was so impressed by the sheer beauty of the tattoos and I found that the people there were ordinary people from all walks of life and were not strange.Getting Covered:I met a tattooist local to me at the convention and discussed having a tattoo. So it was four days later in the evening of Thursday 14th August 1986 at the age of 49 in the studio of the late Bill Cooke that I had my first tattoo session.First I had a bird on my right shoulder and I was over the moon so straight away I elected to have another one. This time I chose to have an orchid on my left thigh. I was a different person when I left his studio that evening.I was hooked and within weeks I was out getting more tattoosHowever in the year 2000 I was recognised by the Guinness World Records as "The World's Most Tattooed Senior Woman" and I still hold that title.I still get some work done but it is difficult to find space now.I continue to attend many conventions, usually by special invitation and make appearances at special events. I have and continue to appear in numerous newspapers and magazines and I appeared on television all over the world.
