Autark out now.

About Me

'People call me ghostworker. I work when everyone else seems to be asleep. I used to replace my head with a tv set to give you a feeling of acquaintance and it almost broke my neck. I enjoy breathing life into a blank sheet of paper but I somehow feel unable to enjoy ordinary life. I can't think of any positive words to describe someone who's forced to live the life of a loner. Even though one could actually say I have build some sort of family. And I do miss my friends back home - even if they don't want to confess that they miss me just as much. I'm planning on coming back to you as often as I can. Oliver Wendell Holmes once said: A mind once stretched to a new idea never returns to its original dimensions. Well, I wish he was wrong as I miss you more than anything really.' – Robert
The Lies And How We Told Them...
'There's a real "pumping-finger-in-the-air" element to this band ala Arcade Fire and Hope of the States. In this day and age, it's almost impossible to find that comfortable medium of enough pop for uncultured music listeners, while still holding on to some artistic originality.' – N/A Reviews (US)
'An up and coming British band. With a sound that echoes Radiohead, Sigur Rós, Jeff Buckley and a bit of Arcade Fire, the band surge with emotional energy. With characteristic vocals and a wonderfully lush production this band will definitely be one to watch in the coming months.' – Rough Trade (UK)
'The Lies aren't your live energetic band with high jumps and head shakes, they are a band that make you stand with your mouths slightly akimbo with small amounts of drool seeping into the corners. They make your head spin with vocals and ambient guitars that make you fly to the moon and back.' – First Live Music Magazine (UK)
'Whilst hanging precariously off a cliff by a line of thread, The Lies And How We Told Them delicately catch a breeze that carries them away with their emotive pop songs that adopt a tone similar to Engineers, Verve and Buckley.' – 93 Records (UK)
