About Me

experimental.instrumental.cinematic post rock music
since 29.10.06
We are a five-piece instrumental band from Kent in England.
We like making pretty music that can explode at any second.
We want our live shows to open your eyes to the post rock scene and show you why it's such a fast growing thing
After a few months of song writing, amp breaks, drummer swappage and a German tour we're set to promote the first double A-side from our upcoming album release on Erased Tapes Records . 'Distant Street Lights/Fractures' has been recorded and mixed by Todd Howe (Boxer) at The Fortress Studios and Mike Unwin at Rogue Studios, London. We are currently touring parts of the UK while recording more material in-between the dates. A second double A-side will be available in early 2008 to abridge the waiting time to the album release...
Cheers.

'With their blissful brand of post-rock, this quintet will warm many a jaded soul.' The Best New Music – Rock Sound

'Distant Street Lights screams the word 'Ambition!' with every subtly-crafted chord. Fractures is possibly the most gripping piece of music you'll hear this year, almost like the final chapter from a Jack Arnott novel.' (8/10) Single of the Week
– Drowned In Sound

'Upon hearing Distant Street Lights I was drawn in like the proverbial moth to the flame, while Fractures fuelled my appetite for more, it’s an album we really want.'
– The Silent Ballet

'Featured track On The Radar.'
– Huw Stephens, BBC Radio 1

'I loved every second of it and played it on both programs.
– BBC Radio Northern Ireland

'Even though it’s probably our ignorance, we've yet to find a strong British act that rivals some of the better foreign post rock artists. Guess what? We think we’ve found one.' - HecklerSpray.com

'Joyful, uplifting riffs that ring out jubilantly. There's no denying that it is evocative music. The soundtrack to some glorious time-lapse cinema.' – In It For The Money Zine

'Distant Street Lights' and 'Fractures' hover in on a film of gentle arpeggios and shuffling percussion before detonating in overdriven tumult. Taking their cue from the post-rock vanguard, CITC's take on 'quiet-loud' is gripping and, in the current climate, very welcome.' (8/10) - CD Times

‘Beautifully cinematic rock and dreamy instrumental sound. I’ll really welcome hearing an album by them.’ (3/5) - The Beat Surrender

'This is absolutely glorious stuff, essential listening.' (9/10) - Without Gravity

'Like Explosions in the Sky being pulled through hazy, wisp-like dreams of chimes and military drum beats, Distant Street Lights starts out a deceptively quite beast before crashing into a squall of blood soaked guitar.' (4/5) – God Is In The TV Zine

'Amazing! Buy immediately!' (7.5/10)
– The Sound Magazine (SE)

'Easy comparisons of their work float right to the top with all the gusto that you’d expect of Explosions In The Sky or Mogwai. Hailing from the UK, Codes starts with all the right moves and then goes quiet only to erupt in a monolith of sound minutes later.' – The Drop (US)

'An epic, majestic take on swooning post-rock. Weaving spidery guitar lines across a landscape of subdued drum patters and gorgeously strewn outbursts of distortion, Distant Street Lights is a song that wallows in waltz-like post-rock beauty, militaristic drum beats punctuating the post-rocking instrumental sublimity.'
– UK Music Search

'One of the best tunes i've heard in a while, like mogwai having a punch up with boards of canada. Superb! Another play this week and more to come.' – Isles FM (Scotland)

'There's incredible depth here for a band at the start of their career.' (4/5) – High Voltage

'What do you look for in music?
Passion? Intensity? Beauty?
Well, check them off: they're all here.'
– Audiojunkies

'This rare type of beauty.' (9/10) – Comfort Comes

'Music that paints pictures with no words.
It's beautiful.' – That's Right Bitch (US)

'A highly successful exercise in epic instrumental music.' – Boomkat Records

'This is glorious stuff!'
– Bugbear Records
