Martial Arts Mike

Walk softly, and carry a (big) stick!

About Me

I make Walking canes / Hiking Sticks out of bamboo and other wood. I hope to make it a business one day. I really enjoy making canes, windchimes, etc...just working with wood. I used to restore antique furniture in Germany, and LOVED IT!!!! I spent 4 years in the Army in Germany, then stayed there another 10 years as a civilian. I miss Germany a lot, but love my mother country. I'm currently into the crafts mentioned above and studying Tai Chi, Kung Fu, and Qigong. I've been diagnosed with some "illnesses" lets say, and hope that Martial Arts and Taoism can help me with my illness. I've just recently got interested in "healing arts", nature meds, and Chinese philosophy, in hopes of improving myself. My life has been full of chaos and stress in the past and I hope to slow these things down and enjoy life. If anyone has any advice, or suggestions, please feel free to leave a message!Profile Edited by MPS MySpace Editor 2.0..

My Interests

Check out my pics....they explain my hobby.... I also study Qigong, Tai Chi, and am a Gold belt in Kung Fu. I'm looking for friends with similar interests in Qigong, Martial arts, meditation, self hypnosis, and making walking canes. I'm also interested in martial arts staff/cane fighting purely for self defense of course. I started martial arts to improve my mind, health, and to achieve goals. I dont look at martial arts as a way of "kicking butt", I look at it as an aid in life, so one can "better" his/her self. I love Dragons....all types, but especially Asian dragons. I collect anything with a dragon!

What Martial Art Are You?

Aikido
You're style is Aikido (Aikikai)! You are calm and centered, but deadly when attacked! You redirect your opponent's force, making your defense your offense. Aikido is versatile and non-violent, stressing harmony and circular motion instead of direct confrontation. You are very concerned with seeing yourself truly and letting your soul reach a pure and hightened state. Knowledgeable and patient, you leave your fallen opponents wondering just what happened.

I'd like to meet:

UFC fighters, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Jet Li, Tony Jaa, Michelle Yeoh, Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee's family....just about anyone in the martial arts. I would love to find a Certified teacher of Tai Chi or Qigong. I would have loved to have met Bruce Lee and had him teach me had he not passed. I'd also like to meet anyone who is into meditation, Qigong, or Taoism. I hope to learn as much as I can!!!QiGong

Music:

Classic Rock including Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Cream, just about any rock from the "Woodstock" era, Oriental Music (Tai Chi or Qigong), Chinese or Native American Flute for relaxation.

Movies:

Any Martial Arts film....Tai Chi Master is the best film I think. Legend of the Drunken Master, Sleeping Fist, All Bruce Lee movies, Hero, Iron Monkey 1 & 2, RoadHouse, Pit Fighter, Fearless, Crank, Ong Bak, The Protector, My Tai Chi 24 Forms DVD is great too! Lets not forget Kill Bill 1 & 2...David Carradine and Uma Thurman are the best! (Along with many others in that movie) The DVD collection of "Band of Brothers" is an awesome true story of heroes.

Television:

When I have time, I like M*A*S*H, Dog the Bounty Hunter, CSI, and Kung Fu TV series on DVD. Most of my television is my tapes or dvd's....I dont care for todays TV that much...reality shows are so fake!

Qigong, Tai Chi, Meditation, Tao Te Ching, "Born a Healer" by Chunyi Lin. My sister Suzannah wrote a book called "Damaged Goods- Adults can heal from childhood trauma"

The U.S. Armed Forces (God Bless you all!!!!) Bruce Lee, Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Tony Jaa...and last, but not least, My Kung Fu Master, Master Sheeley of Sheeley's Iron Tigers.
