... ... ... ... . . . .. .. .art and music of course!!! ......
Check me out!Think I've done this section already? Art, music, travel, sport, current affairs(but I'm not obsessed with it like some people I know) What do I like doing? The usual I suppose.. reading (particularly non fiction, politics , civil rights) the arts ( I'm a visual artist who is trying his best to be the next major saxophonist without having time to play!)I like all types of music particularly jazz but excluding anything reaching the national charts (especially from pop artists with Australian accents, artificial girl or boy bands or someone with a background in reality tv.I think, and it may sound strange, I'm interested in meeting and befriending different kinds of people with different takes on life. Its always fasinating to speak to opinionated people who can tell you something you don't know.

I'd like to meet:

..

You if you’re a nice person!

Who am I? I consider myself an easygoing gentleman with a magnetic character, a wicked sense of humour, an ever increasing desire to improve my life, my work and my ability to be a supportive father, partner, brother, son and friendHobbies include cinema, theatre, art and travel. I like sampling good wines ( I feel like a nice South African red now!)and self made cocktails.......................When I'm extremely bored I might watch DVDs since British TV is rubbish most of the time. Apart from the Apprentice most programmes are so depressing they make you want to slit your throat.Thank God for some watchable US dramas like 24 and CSI although David Caroso is isn't convincing as a cool cop especially with those shades! (Sorry David)The thing I worship most and role models ? - My daughter and immediate family. Education & Work.....Educated to Masters level reading Politics, EU & International Relations and working in the arts and construction sectors teaching and co-ordinating activities that enhance our living environment!!Aims... To have my original artwork in everyone's house, being able to live comfortably from it and be in a position to assist more people less fortunate through charitable work..........Id like to meet Interesting people who I can learn something from. People who live and experience life and have something to say. I like people who enjoy conversation. Not looking for anything other than potential friends in places. Would be nice to meet people I'd like to visit living around the world. There are plenty of places I've been and plenty more that remain on my list. Perhaps I can kill two birds with one stone?.Thinking about it further I'd like to meet people who would like to buy my paintings or will commission me to play the sax at the weddings, birthdays etc ( joke!) You can always view just a small sample of my work in the pics section or visit davidemmanuelnoel.co.uk

Me and My Art

'I feel I've been blessed with a special gift and it's incredibly satisfying to know that I can use my talent to bring joy into the lives of others. The purpose of my art through strong vibrant colours is to capture and provoke thought and a sense of the world through characters, landscapes and abstracts I paint. I am interested in some form of cultural representation, yet equally interested in the subjective aspect of painting — in the application of paint, and the balance of colour, scale, line and movement. There is a great therapeutic release when I paint particularly if I spend time away from the paint brushes working on other art related projects. I've been drawing and painting since I was a young boy but I was always encouraged by loving parents to pursue more mainstream careers like law and accounting, where a good job and stability were seen as guaranteed. Despite reading other subjects at college and university I maintained my enthusiasm and achieved satisfaction working with others on art projects. Perhaps my drive stems from my constant desire to challenge the view that art is a peculiar luxury benefiting a privileged few who have a license to define an artist and art itself. What is art? What is good art? To find the answer never go to an art critic or someone who feels they have sufficient experience to judge. Never go to the individual who claims to have a trained eye for seeing the wood from the trees! Art is and will always be subjective as it provides therapeutic pleasure, comfort and purpose to that individual. Art is not a luxury but a necessity for maintaining our sense of the world particularly when our understanding of it can be flawed by those who easily influence and mislead us. I believe Art plays a powerful role in recording or even distorting history and our appreciation of ourselves and others. In various mediums art is a significant tool to shape society and our future.'David

Movies:

Black Cinema, Martial Arts, Dramas, Indies to popular franchises like Aliens, Lord of the Rings, Jason Bourne and Bond, James Bond although I think its time someone shot him! I think there is a limit with what you can do with a character its hard to reinvent them. It would be nice to see some original work being produced in instead cashing in on franchises with too many sequels.

Television:

As I said earlier not much because I prefer DVDs like above. To be honest, my life is too busy for me to discuss this in much depth.

Books:

Books like The Magic of thinking Big, Rich Dad Poor Dad, 'They Came before Colombus' and How Europe Underdeveloped Africa come to mind. Mainly motivational, non fiction and books from a non European perspective. Not a fan of Harry Potter stuff. ( yes another film series) I try to read at least book a month. Its good practice and it encourages my daughter to read now she's at school.

Heroes:

My parents and siblings and those who came before them. .. .. .. .. ..
