About Me

I changed this a while ago, and now I'm making amendments to it...It's time. Words can carry so much insight into the inner workings of someone's mind but little is defined about the personality; hence...the dilemma. I am, in my own words, a complex assortment of shifting emotions......reckless abandon, creative impulse, compassion, hedonism, bohemian undercurrents, inspirational leadership, insecure ambition and introspective evaluation. I front a rock band in L.A. (www.myspace.com/intangible), my father is a classic rock pioneer (I truly believe that musical ability can be inherited, amongst many other traits a mother & father can pass along to their kin), I love only a handful of people, but respect & honor many others....friends, former lovers, etc. I believe that living by some sort of personal ethical code is the key to longevity of happiness. I'm a bit aloof at the start, but am easily warmed to the interests of others & feel passionate about so many things. After all....I'm always human....and so are you.

My Interests

Hmmm......well, interests- Music, more music, & did I mention music? Being a singer, a songwriter & multi-instrumentalist, making music, listening to music, seeing a great live performance, electronica (house, trance), folk, old-school jazz (Charlie Parker, Miles, Chick Corea, Big Band), classical (Ludwig Van, Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Chaikovsky), rap (Black Eyed Peas, Jurrasic 5, A Tribe Called Quest), rock......whew (see music«) movies, videogames, staying healthy, sports (bicycling, volleyball, soccer, bodyboarding), yoga, my cat Mick, my friends (few but real), astrology, philosophy, spirituality, having a good time, not taking seriously anything that shouldn't be taken seriously, road trips to San Francisco, Santa Barbara...travel in general, self-education, role-models, love, peace, responsible drug & alchohol use, gourmet food, fine dining, houseplants (especially palms), learning about & drinking fine red wine, intelligent, stimulating conversation, sunsets with huge vividly-colored clouds wrapped around the sky, big white clouds drifting by on a sunny afternoon, offshore winds when I go surfing, bad weather....like thunderstorms, lightning, rain, late afternoon when the sun casts a long shadow amidst golden, light-showered trees, the voice of a woman, her smell, her smile, her eyes......the way she can make a man feel like he's the best thing she's ever known....true love.

I'd like to meet:

First & foremost- warm-hearted, friendly, respectful people. Other musicians, music fans, people from all over this great country, people with common interests, eccentric, artistic, creative, funny, whatever...just as long as they give a shit about something meaningful & are true to themselves & those around them

Music:

Rock, electronica, old-school jazz, soul, calssical, the crooners (Sinatra, Dean, etc.), old-school r & b, intelligent hip-hop....pretty much anything that has quality of some sort. Being a musician myself makes me a fan & critic of all types of music, as anyone who takes their careers seriously should be.

Movies:

Basquiat, High Art, Lord of the Rings trilogy, the first Matrix, Henry Fool, Fall, High Fidelity, Alien, Full Metal Jacket, A Clockwork Orange....most of Stanley's work, Star Wars 4,5, & 6, About A Boy, Dances With Wolves, Braveheart, Road Warrior, Office Space, Wayne's World, Elizabeth, Notting Hill (I know it's a chick-flick, but I'm a romantic & I don't fucking care what any guy who's uncomfortable with his own sexuality thinks of my taste in movies), Saving Private Ryan, Spinal Tap, Best In Show, Gladiator, Father of the Bride (an Argentinian film) & pretty much anything French or from Spanish-speaking countries.

Television:

Fox Sports World (for the soccer), Fuse, Discovery, KCET, The History Channel, TLC, PBS, The L Word, Family Guy, South Park, Beavis & Butthead, In Living Color, Nature, Nova.

Books:

Autobiography of a Yogi, The Bagavad Ghita, & anything spiritual, philosophical, or educational.

Heroes:

A person who doesn't bow to pressure of any sort & who is happy in life not because of material wealth, but because of spiritual & emotional wealth. Someone with the following qualities- passion, wit, charm, affectionate, sensitive, sensual, respectful, romantic, creative, a leader, diligence, dignity, self-confidence, intelligence, compassion & morality.

Introspection

I just now had the words I wanted to put down, and the minute I walked into my room was the same that they, the words, went so quickly out. They were part of moments of clarity consumed by too much or...
