And those who were dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music. ~Friedri

About Me

Isn't it time you change your myspace layout
It's a bit difficult to label myself anymore, since I've come to realize that my true "self" is really something far removed from all the labels that I used to ascribe to it. However........I am a musician (keyboardist/vocalist/songwriter) who has spent the majority of her life playing music. There were other jobs here and there along the way, but my heart and soul has always been in my music. I have always been somewhat of a "non-conformist", and perhaps I could also describe myself as having a bit of an old hippie mentality.I grew up in Maine, but have lived in the South for over 25 years now.All of my life, I felt like I was searching for something that I could never quite seem to find. I feel like I have finally found what I was always searching for in the spiritual path that I am now on. Although my background is Christian, I believe that there is something that can be gained and/or learned from ALL religions. I have become a vegetarian and somewhat of a recluse, but I would not trade the joy and peace that I have found for anything.

My Interests

Truth, Music, Spirituality, Philosophy, Animals (Cats in particular), Animal Rights, Environmental causes, Natural healing through alternative medicine, Love, Peace, Sunshine and Rainbows.... (not necessarily in that order !)

I'd like to meet:

Like-minded people who are seekers of truth, and who are not afraid to question "reality". My consciousness has expanded in recent years, and my awareness has grown. I have embarked on a spiritual journey, and there's no turning back. I would like to meet other fellow travelers on the path to true enlightenment.....as well as other kynd souls.

Music:

..

Favorite artists as of late include: Red House Painters, Krishna Das, Counting Crows, Sun Kil Moon, Pearl Jam, Patty Griffin, Ani Difranco, Neil Young, Alison Krauss, Train, Nickel Creek, Marry Me Jane, James Gang, Led Zeppelin, Dan Fogelberg, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Grand Funk, Edie Brickell, Dave Matthews, and really and truly........the list goes on and on. I like alot of folk, acoustic, Indie and kirtan music these days, but I am still drawn from time to time to 80's "hair band" music, "Southern Rock", "Alternative", or some of the great rock that came out of the 70's. For the most part, my taste seems to have mellowed a bit over the years, but I guess there's still a place in my heart for the all the music that played a part in my life in some way or another....

Check out this awesome music video for "Glosoli" by Sigur Ros. It's so MAGICAL!!! (You might want to turn my background music off for a minute !!)

Movies:

"Pay it forward" sticks out in my head, because it was a movie with a great message. I like movies with a message that you can carry away with you, or movies that touch your heart. If a movie ends up making me smile through my tears.......I couldn't ask for more. I think it's healthy to laugh too, so I love a good comedy.

Television:

Not a huge fan of television, but I watch this and that now and then....

Books:

Anything written by Paramahansa Yogananda or Ram Dass.... Books about Buddhist Dharma, near-death experiences,Christian Mysticism, Philosophy, Psychology, Self-help and Spiritual truth.

Heroes:

God (because He gave me life...He is the Father behind all fathers, the Mother behind all mothers and the Friend behind all friends...He is the source of everything good, pure and beautiful), My parents (because they always loved me, supported me and never gave up on me), All the friends that were "there" for me in all of my darkest hours to help me get through them, Paramahansa Yogananda (because he led me out of the dark forest that I had wandered in for so very long....), and ALL of the enlightened ones who help us find our way out of the quagmire of delusion.

SEASONS OF LIFE:
From the sea of life emerge the enthusiasm and innocence of youth in Springtime. Summer brings joy and ripening maturity which flows into the contentment and memories of Autumn. Winter brings an ever-deepening wisdom and understanding of oneself and the universe. Each season has a beauty all its own that intermingles with every other season to make life a continuing miracle.
