About Me

I am the youngest of five children. I was born in Pinville, Louisiana. I was first introduce to music singing in the church choir, Talent shows, and glee clubs. At the age of twelve my family and I move to Detroit Michigan. I continued to sing different styles of music with many great local artist. Performing lead and background vocals as well as studio recording. I performed with local group such as Impact 7 Band with motown sound and R&B, Danny Tyrell Trio seventy pop rock blues band, Ortheia Barnes performing Gospel, And Vonnie and Company which we had the pleasure of opening up for the legendary Joe Sample at the Detroit Music Hall. Presently I am performing with my group call the FBJ Band. Performing smooth Jazz, sultry blues, and a taste of Funk. Because of my love for rich harmony, the soulful Motown Sound, Gospel, Blues and Jazz, I've created my own unique style. Members of the band starting with the Classy lady with a classy name on lead vocals Champagne, Rick Jones on keyboards and vocals, Butter Hawkins on drums, Paul Stewart on Bass and vocals, James Payton on tenor and alto sax, and Pablo on percussion's Flute and vocals.

My Interests

I love singing and arranging background harmony. And making sweet soul music. As of now I am the lead vocalist and the band leader for the FBJ Band. I would like to meet different musicians and singers from all over the world. From Rachelle Ferrell, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, B.B.King, and Prince. And to be able to communicate with different musicians and singers that have the love and passion for music. I would like to meet interesting people of all culture. And like Lou Rawls would say. As far as what kind of music that I enjoy. The FBJ BAND music of course. Because I'm a high energy Blues singer, and a down home Blues lover. And we do it all with Smooth Jazz, R&B, Latin, Country, pop rock and Gospel. Musicians and singers that influence me are singers from Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Rachelle Ferrell, Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Impact 7, Etta James, KoKo Taylor, B.B. King, Bobby Blue Bland, Robert Penn, T.Pablo, James Payton, Mark Croft, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Mary Mary, Rance Allen Group, Vickie Winans.

Action movies, Comedy, and Horror. I love my movies like I love my music. Full of energy and excitement, fun and funny, and just down right challenging. Which can be scary sometime.
