Tuka's been emcee-ing over hip-hop and reggae outfits in the Australian music scenes for over five years. Dividing his time between Rumpunch (six piece reggae band) and Thundamentals (hip-hop outfit), he has also been a feature mc in Chasm's live sets and works solo alongside DJ Morgs. Tuka focusses mainly on cheeky, socially aware vocals - both highly melodic and rhythmic in nature. He is also known for hard-hitting boom bap, dub-style production. Tuka is a veteran in the Sydney freestyle scene, performing entirely improvised shows on a regular basis. He has freestyled on FBI's Stolen Records and has hosted Triple J's National Open Mic, showcasing his freestyle ability over National Radio.Recently Tuka has begun working as a teacher for the Tafe Outreach Program, teaching hip hop to disadvantaged youth to improve their literacy by encouraging them to express themselves creatively as individuals. Tuka has been released on multiple projects such as Chasm's LP 'Beyond The Beat Tape', Rumpunch's self titled LP 'Rumpunch', Immune's debut LP 'The Future Kill' and Jack Prest's 'Sincity Mixtape volume 2'.Look out for the highly anticipated Thundamentals self-titled EP as well as the Two Toes LP ,Dialectrix LP (Obese Records) and The Tongue's mixtape 'Redux' (elefant traks).
