Born singing (literally didn't stop "singing" for the first three weeks of life), Lisa Marie origionally hails from South Bend, IN. Blessed with a musical family who always encouraged her creativity, she started writing songs at age 9...After teaching herself to play piano in the church basement. A deep hunger to express herself in many different musical forms led her to also learn to play viola at age 10, after losing the battle with dad to play drums (parents encouragement and patience can only go so far). She got her wish in high school band as a percussionist, playing congas, bongos, tri toms, bass drum, cymbals, bells, vibes, marimba, and chimes. For fun, she and her band friends would switch instruments, so Lisa Marie got to learn to play sax and trumpet as well. Origionally a classically trained vocalist, she also spent high school in rock bands as a vocalist/ keyboard player. Many years and many bands later (heavy metal, pop covers, reggae/funk, blues, folk, rock), Lisa Marie went into solo territory, recording and producing her album "Rennaissance Girl" on the indie label, T. Jag Crew records. Since moving to Nashville, she's played at Tootsies, Exit/In, 12th & Porter, 3rd & Linsley, French Quarter, Radio Cafe, and Douglas Corner, On The Rocks, The Fiddler's Hearth (Irish pub in South Bend), and most favoritely- The House of Blues in Chicago. Now enjoying the creative collaborations with other writers and musicians, Lisa Marie brings together a diverse collection of musical influences and a unique and beautiful voice to share music that touches the heart and soul.
Some of the collaboration has resulted in a new band, new music, and a new alter ego. Check out Lisa Marie as V.icious V.eronica Velvet (V.V.), the fabulous front lady of the band LiliRoar. Combining a classical background, and a love of harder rock, LiliRoar brings 'Rockestra' to Nashville.
