Amarachi

Born March 17, 1987 in Lagos, Nigeria, Amarachi Onyeise spent the first nine years of her life in Nigeria. In 1996, she moved with her family to the United States with their first destination being Liberal, Kansas before relocating to Houston in 1998. Unfamiliar with the American culture Amarachi remained quiet and reserved. She kept herself occupied by reading and participating in sports while in school excelling in track & field.
With a life long dream to compete in the Olympics, Amarachi also enjoyed singing and songwriting. She recalls, ”I was in junior high when I joined a choir. It was then I knew I wanted to go further with a singing career,” she said. “I went through high school knowing what I wanted to do but really couldn’t do it because my parents strongly encouraged; go to school, graduate and get a 9 to 5.”
After graduating high school at the age of 16, she spent two years in college, one year at Alabama State University and the other at the University of Houston. As fate would have it, she decided to drop out of college to pursue her dreams. No longer in pursuit of being an Olympic Gold Medalists, Amarachi admired fashion & beauty and added modeling to her list of career goals.
The 5’9, slim framed beauty has graced the runway in fashion shows for designers like Model Rage, TikiGlam, Tropicouture and Spasso. As a newcomer into the modeling and entertainment industry, Amarachi is often compared to Naomi Campbell who has inspired her modeling career along with Tyra Banks.
