Mac Hernández. Professional bass player born in Madrid on October 23rd 1966 (the same day George Harrison went to India for the first time,the same day Hendrix recorded "Hey Joe",the same day Miles Davis was recording "Miles Smiles" etc... a little bit of culture is not bad is it?) well, apart from that first public appearance in the sixties... Mac began playing bass in 1981 performing live for the first time in 1983 with the now great producer and always friend José Maria Rosillo. In 1985 he was one of the co-founders of Sex museum until 1990 recording their first three albums "Fuzz Face","Sex Museum versus Macana" and "Independence" apart from songs in several international compilations and touring Spain and Europe. In 1988 he formed the hard rock band Freedom recording in 1993 the homonymous album,touring Spain and supporting bands like the Cult. In 1989 Mac joined the incredibly talented band Lions in Love wih Daniel Melingo and recorded their two albums "Lions in Love" and "Psicofonias" touring Spain and Argentina until 1993. He joined other rock bands like Tea recording their first lp, Tonky Blues Band recording with Mick Taylor, the hard rock band Lizard supporting bands like Van Halen, Gun or the Pretenders. Thru' the 90's was in Al'Laboratorio's resident band, a power trio with his brother, genius of the stage Rafa Kas as frontman being an active part of the Madrid rock'n'roll nights. In 1997 he toured with Christina Rosenvinge with her beautiful album "Cerrado" meeting his long time partner and fabulous guitar player David Gwynn. 2000 saw the recording of "Fonorama" with Cooper. From 2000 to 2004 studies in Escuela de Música Creativa. In 2003 Mac joined Marlango with the actress/singer Leonor Watling and recorded which it was going to be their first homonymous album (gold record in 2004) again with David Gwynn. Other recordings and gigs with bands like Shiva Sound with Stefanie Ringes, Plastic D'amour, El mecánico del swing, The Bricks, ExCrocodiles, Marcelo Champanier (playing with his band in the USA)The Ballbreakers, Bueyes Perdidos, Freezer Burn, Dilema, Camarillo Jazz Band, Fede Aguado, Rocky Mountain Band, Black Coffee etc etc etc. Tours in 2006 and 2007 with Tonino Carotone, The Soul Tellers and has recorded recently the Josele Santiago's album "Garabatos" performing live with him. Now he is playing with the argentinian/spanish rock and roll icon Ariel Rot and recently has joined TEQUILA. Mac also had the honour of jamming (always in the name of the lord...) with such artists like:Noel Redding (from the Jimi Hendrix Experience) Mick Taylor (from the Rolling Stones, the great Tom Jones or Charlie Mussellwhite. The entire list of artists who had or have Mac as bass player would be too long... and growing! He proudly endorses Ampeg amplification..... ....
