In prayer it is better
to have a heart without words
than words without a heart.
~Mahatma Gandhi
Each candle represents a prayer
for each one of you.
With love,
~Jules
Love is the voice under all silences,
the hope which has no opposite in fear;
the strength so strong
mere force is feebleness:
the truth more first than sun,
more last than star...
~E.E. Cummings
Passion
Oh come sweet passion, consume my soul
Let the blazing inferno rage out of control.
Fan the flames until they scorch the sky.
Burn with intensity through my mind's eye.
Stir my spirit, bring it alive,
Rejuvenate, release and revive.
Oh come sweet passion, fill my dreams by day.
Let my dreams by night be your passionate play.
Give me something to believe,
Something to achieve.
Cleanse me sweet passion, make me new.
Come sweet passion, let me drown in you.
Illuminate the path that is yet to be.
Send me on that blissful journey.
Show me glittering fields of green and gold.
Recite to me stories yet untold.
Oh come sweet passion and dance with me.
Unlock my heart and set it free.
Oh sweet passion, for your music I long.
Chime in my ears your amazing song.
Mystify me with your thundering beat,
Be my serenity, my solace retreat.

A Moment of Happiness
A moment of happiness,
you and I sitting on the verandah,
apparently two, but one in soul, you and I.
We feel the flowing water of life here,
you and I, with the garden's beauty
and the birds singing.
The stars will be watching us,
and we will show them
what it is to be a thin crescent moon.
You and I unselfed, will be together,
indifferent to idle speculation, you and I.
The parrots of heaven will be cracking sugar
as we laugh together, you and I.
In one form upon this earth,
and in another form in a timeless sweet land.
~Rumi
Before Words Were Spoken
Remember before things were broken,
Remember before words were spoken.
Remember when there was One;
Before time itself had begun.
Remember from whence you came,
Remember Truth, it's never changed,
Remember.
Remember when this voyage began,
Before the moonlight on the desert sands.
Remember before day or night,
Remember before blindness and sight.
Remember before you started to roam,
Before you wandered so far from home,
Remember.
Remember long before you were thought of,
Remember before there was Love,
Remember before there was Light,
Their Source is One and there was no night.
Remember what you have forgotten,
Remember the One never begotten,
Remember.
Remember the stillness and peace,
Before there was any morning breeze.
Remember before the light of the sun,
Remember before there was anyone.
Remember from where you started,
Remember the home you departed,
Remember.
~Shaykh Fattaah of Debu
To the Evening Star
Thou fair-hair'd angel of the evening,
Now, whilst the sun rests on the mountains, light
Thy bright torch of love; thy radiant crown
Put on, and smile upon our evening bed!
Smile on our loves, and while thou drawest the
Blue curtains of the sky, scatter thy silver dew
On every flower that shuts its sweet eyes
In timely sleep. Let thy west wind sleep on
The lake; speak silence with thy glimmering eyes,
And wash the dusk with silver. Soon, full soon,
Dost thou withdraw; then the wolf rages wide,
And then the lion glares through the dun forest:
The fleeces of our flocks are cover'd with
Thy sacred dew: protect them with thine influence!
~William Blake
..
When you have come to the edge
Of all light that you know
And are about to drop off
into the darkness of the unknown,
Faith is knowing one of two things will happen:
There will be something solid to stand on
or You will be taught to fly.
~Patrick Overton
Your task is not to seek for love,
but merely to seek and find all
the barriers within yourself
that you have built against it.
~Rumi
Faith is a knowledge
within the heart,
beyond the reach of proof.
~Kahlil Gibran
Ordinary riches can be stolen,
real riches cannot.
In your soul are infinitely precious things
that cannot be taken from you.
~Oscar Wilde
Love your life, perfect your life,
Beautify all things in your life.
Show respect to all people…
and grovel to none.
When you arise in the morning
give thanks for the food
and for the joy of living.
If you see no reason for giving thanks,
the fault lies only in yourself.
Abuse no one and no thing,
for abuse turns the wise ones to fools
and robs the spirit of its vision.
~ Chief Tecumseh

We do not believe in ourselves
until someone reveals that
deep inside us something is valuable,
worth listening to, worthy of our trust,
sacred to our touch.
Once we believe in ourselves
we can risk curiosity, wonder,
spontaneous delight or any
experience that reveals
the human spirit.
E.E. Cummings
