About Me

"You'll make mistakes every day,
but somehow love just washes them away
like a wave cleansing the beach,
and every day you start anew."
- Richard Evans

SPIRITUAL WISDOM

"All religions have the same reason."

Thich Nhat Hanh - Vietnamese Zen Buddhist monk, teacher, author, and peace activist

"When we have the capacity to accept and to love, we do not have reproach or enmity.
That love manifests in the way we look, in the way we speak.
When we look with the eye of compassion and loving kindness,
when we speak loving words, we are the ones who benefit first of all."

"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."-- St. Augustine

"Traveling and eating are about letting things happen."

"IMPRESSIONS OF ASIA"

Harvesting Dragon Well tea in HANGZHOU, CHINA

“Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the world revolves
- slowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future.
Live the actual moment. Only this moment is life.” (Thich Nhat Hahn)

HA LONG BAY (Vinh Ha Long or Bay of the Descending Dragon lies in the northeastern part of Vietnam, 165 Km from Hanoi, in the Gulf of Tonkin. It includes some 1,600 islands and islets forming a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars and is possibly Vietnam's most famous natural attraction.)

CHINA BEACH in DANANG (With a coastline of 30 kilometers long, it is recognized as the most ideal beaches of the region.)

AYUTTAYA (located about 90 kilometers from Bangkok, it was the capital of the kingdom of Thailand from 1350 and 1767. The architecture of Ayutthaya is a fascinating mix of Khmer (ancient Cambodian style) and early Sukhothai style.)

TIAN TAN BUDDHA (located at Ngong Ping, Lantau Island, in Hong Kong. Also known as the Big Buddha since it is the world's tallest outdoor seated bronze Buddha.)

GREAT BUDDHA OF KAMAKURA, JAPAN (Daibutsu in Japanese, is a representation of Buddha Amitaba: the Lord of the Western Pure Land.)

TERRACOTTA WARRIORS, X'IAN (represent only a small portion of the eight thousand strong underground army buried in front of the Emperor Qinshihuang's tomb (r. 221-207 BC) to defend him in the afterlife.)

THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA (built over 2,000 years ago, by Qin Shi Huangdi, the first emperor of China during the Qin (Ch'in) Dynasty (221 B.C - 206 B.C.) it stretches approximately 6,700 kilometers (4,163 miles ) from east to west of China.

MT FUJI (Fujisan, Japan's highest and most prominent mountain stands at 3776 meters.)

“Aspire to be like Mt. Fuji, with such a broad and solid foundation that the strongest earthquake cannot move you, and so tall that the greatest enterprises of common men seem insignificant from your lofty perspective. With your mind as high as Mt Fuji you can see all things clearly. And you can see all the forces that shape events; not just the things happening near to you.” - Miyamoto Musashi

Love sought is good...but given unsought, is better. One finds love not by being loved, but by loving. For love is, above all, the gift of oneself....
