I'll try to be as synthetic as possibile but if you want more info, give me your personal email and i'll send you a more detailed document in attachment. Please tell more about your preferences, do you like the solid body or the semi-acustic? Describe your "ideal" Billyboy guitar. In the mean while, I can tell you that my guitars are completly handcrafted and usually made on order according to the customer's requests, but occationally I also make some stock models (but there's nothing left in stock at the moment... selling fast recently). Below I describe what I usually use for the stock production.First of all, I must tell you that I'm making, at the moment, a solid body guitar, a "jumbo size" semi-acustic and 2 versions of a hollow-body (more or less like rickenbackers, but with variable tonal-chamber sizes). You can see the 2 first models in the images on my "myspace" page and I'll soon post the photos of the newer hollowbodies. And I also make bass guitars.Every thing except for the hardware (tuners, bridge, electronics and pickups) is hand made, even the knobs on some models, the neck plate, the control plate (when present) and the skull shape tail-piece are made by hand in polished stainless steel. The skull is my signature mark, but if the look doesn't suit your taste, your style or your band, I also offer a different shape.I usually use the following woods: Mahogany (I have different types, "normal" or light weight), Ash, Maple, Nord italian red-fir (the same wood of stradivari's violins used only as the top of the semi-acustics). For both bodies and necks I can use only one wood or I can combine together different woods, and their sounds, depending on the customer's needs in matter of tone. My usual receipt is light weight Mahogany with a 1 cm Ash top for bodies and mahogany centre with maple sides or only maple or only mahogany for necks. But, as I said, all this is variable acording the the customer's requests. The neck shape is completly personalizzable, from slim to fat, tele/strato or gibson. Fretboards are in rosewood or ebony with dot o square or thin line mother of pearl or abalone inlays. Radius 12". The scale can be fender, gibson or 25". I've found the P.R.S/National/Dobro 25" scale to be a very valid solution for good playability, string tension and sound. It's selling quite well.As for pickups, I can put in almost everything that can be found on the market and alot can be done also with the electronics. An interesting combination that I found for the solid bodies are 2 TVJones and a central lipstick (or 3 lipsticks are nice too), with a switch for selecting the outer pickups (just like a gibson or a Telecaster) and an additional switch to put in series, parallel (or series out of phase) or deactive the central pickup plus a volume and tone control. This gives you alot of different sounds and the flexability of a stratocaster, but with more options offered by the series connections, very usefull expecially with 3 lipsticks to obtain a humbucker bridge or neck sound.Another example, usually used on the semi-acustic is 2 volumes, a tone and the same 2 switchs as above. On the new hollow-bodies, I'm trying an original approch with 2 minihumbuckers: a pickup selector, 2 volumes and 2 variable coil selectors instead of 2 tones controls (not many musicians use tone controls offen). A variable coil selector is a potentionmeter that "fades in or out" one of the coils of the humbucker. Instead of a normal "coil tap switch" that changes a humbucker in a single coil, you can dial-in the amount of volume of the second coil... pratically you can have a single coil sound, a humbucker sound and everything in between! This was difficult for me to explain in english... hope it was clear. Yet again, I can also make usual connections or study something you have in mind... just try to tell me what you're looking for.I promised to be synthetic but it was hard... I hope I didn't bore you.I thank you once again and hope to hear from you soon.Billy. ********************************************************** check this on fetishguitars.com ********************************************************** Costruisco artigianalmente questi modelli ispirandomi a tutti gli strumenti vintage che ho suonato(quelli standard,ma anche quelli con i suoni più "marci" e strani).
