The little room to, through and beyond hell. The Sightseer project, perplexis
and the such. Lately i am having much comforts with just being lost in the woods. Isn't it good? And since i am now slightly learned of computering, i've decided to play along with it all for a bit.
I'd like to use this myspace thing as a living, evolving, devolving kind of art display. Recording songs and paintings are the main methods i use to document my life. They're all very personel and i don't part with any very often. I use them mainly for a kind of meditation and documentation. Like a diary of my subconscience. I've done some other painting for friends and their album covers, but usually they're just done for me. I like to document the moments
as they happen, the moment of clarity without planning. I feel i must finish each project start to finish before sleeping. I don't like to change channels till they're done. This has taught me to trust instinct, and create freely, creating a kind of Tarot for myself. It has also kept me awake for 3 days straight several times. It may seem self-centered but i feel it's really important to explore yourself to the deepest possible, and most every aspect of my life is treated as an exploritory surgery. We are all most easily accessed by ourselves after all. I'm not sure why i feel the need to share this all with others though, i guess just to comunicate with like minded souls and to share ideas through ideas, pictures and music.
I've already met some great people, and hope to meet more in this giant non-invasive perfect for hermits world of myspace nonsense. Thanks for checking my page out, i'll be changing the songs pretty soon and i'll put up different paintings now and then. Thanks again dear invisible friends and thanks for ever caring in the first place. I should also mention that i've finished a new album called "Memoreaper" and it is now available on cd and 12 inch vinyl. Once again the album is released on the BLUEFOG, and is distributed by SONIC UNYON.
Sonic Unyon MailorderI've been watching a very close friend and grandmother slowly lose her memory over the last several years. What happens when you lose all the past. What is memory? I guess this ended up influencing the new album. 50 songs were recorded during 2006, and the album was compiled from those. The 14 chosen seemed to fit together into a piece that kept recalling memories of her and childhood but with a looming peaceful horror.
I'm not sure the full meaning yet, it usually takes a while for me to get it, but it's done and released. I am also thinking of doing some shows again soon, it's been quite a while. I'll let you know as soon as anythings confirmed. I've placed a song from one of the few shows i played in 2006 below. This was at a Syd Barrett rememberance show at the silver doller in Toronto. I played 10 of his tunes that night in appreciation of him. It meant alot to me to do this show, not just for him but for Arthur Lee who passed away not long before this show as well. Dallas Good joined me for 4 songs and they're all on youtube if you want to see the rest. Thanks to the audience for adding the albums sound effects, and the girl with the flute who played perfect mysterious little tunes behind me somewhere.A video i made in early February 2008 for the song ENTRANCE:UNDOER. It's too bad youtubes video compression kind of messes up some of the strobe effects but it still looks pretty good. At least i can share it with you.
This is a three song edit from a concert at the lovely Vogue Theater in Sackville N.B. for the 2007 "Sappyfest" last August. The songs are ENTRANCE:UNDOER, SHE IS THE PATH, and A QUIET GETAWAY.
