Hello, hello, this is the Battleship, Ethel calling. We know we said this last year (and it was true then) but we're saying it again: The Battleship, Ethel is making a record! That's right, we're really doing it, and it's a monster. We're doing it alone, for no money, with the loving and tireless support of practical people around town (who have amps and microphone stands, etc..) who should honestly be sick of our roundness, but aren't yet and therefore godbless. Um, so we're really giving it our best here... we're making a record that's as exciting and ridiculous as our live show but with some class, you know? You don't? Well fucking trust me then, and you'll see what I mean soon. I should think that with a month off from gigging (bass player is gone on a mystical voyage) we will have the chance to "GET 'R DONE", and then we will sell it for super cheap at shows, and hopefully put it out on the big wax flatties with a nice picture on the front and some words on the back about me and the other guys and the dog (Barrett). Don't leave our record in direct sunlight! Who wants the best of rock, jazz, 20th century classical and minimalism, mixed with acid and nervous terror?! WE DO! Hard, soft and repetitive like a wrestler in a snuggly after a stroke: The Battleship, Ethel.
