Where does a band come from? Here's a partial list. Ben: Craven, Of the Fallen, The Lantern Hill Nightmare, Isolated Fields. Tim: Angrius, The Lantern Hill Nightmare, Isolated Fields. Squintz: Canvas, Monkey Brain, Slit. Matt: ???, Von Boa, Plant, Ending the Silence. It's a complicated tree, but we can probably relate ourselves to just about every heavy band in the KC area.
Our mission statement might read as follows: "Watching the Coroner is committed to making music that doesn't fit the mold, but we shamelessly love and exude our influences. We like fast, furious nonsequitor music that challenges the listener. Feel free to categorize us. The bottom line is that we are here to challenge and entertain. If you get it, then we love you. If you don't, then we don't care. We make music that we like. Music isn't about pandering to the masses. It is about personal expression, and none of us think in straight lines. Please excuse our schizophrenia."Listener discretion is not at all advised. I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Ben--Drums, sick song titles

Matt--Bass/Electric Log

Squintz--Vocals, Catharsis,D(r)eadlocks

Tim--Guitars, vocals, walker

Mike--Guitars, the silent stare, lip hook

Influences: Meshuggah, Machine Head, Soilwork, Slayer, Death, Dillinger Escape Plan, Coalesce, Norma Jean, Dimmu Borgir, Tom Waits, Cannibal Corpse, Led Zeppelin, Overkill, Kataklysm, Cephalic Carnage, Origin--fuck, this is pointless.
Sounds Like: Heavy, fast, and loud. We are a mixture of flat out speed, stupid and ridiculous nonsequitors, and furious breakdowns that inspire violence and hugs and punches in the neck. Our music is melodicism mixed with amphetamines, steroids, a bad hangover, and a mental CD track with a skip.
Type of Label: None
