I'd like to meet:

As you can see, I like meeting animals & people. LOL Oh Please, do not roll your eyes and shake your heads and laugh... Okay, okay mock me; go ahead.... get it over with! Just for the record though, when looking for animals.... I was actually looking for Little Bit, Dweezle, Gracie, and Kitty! Isn't it amazing how many talented little critters there are here on MySpace? LOLWHO I'D LIKE TO MEETOk, just for the record I already have a wonderful husband and his name is Tim; so I'm not looking to find any other gentlemen! Am just looking for friends....People from different cultural & ethnic backgrounds or from different countries; People interested in or wanting to talk about the environment, animals, nature, astronomy, history, Christianity/Religion, travel, the arts, photography, creativity, drawing, photography, writing, acting, & science fiction; People who can give tips on desktop publishing & website building for someone who is a techie flunky....; Anyone who knows about marketing, PR, and Advertising! I'd also like to meet people who have a funny bone, who like expanding their horizons, learning, or whatever.... I just like creative people & people who are kind, gentle, thoughtful, & sensitive; Photographically, I'd love to meet CC Lockwood & Julia Sims, 2 of Louisiana's best photographers. Annie Leibovitz would be interesting to talk too as well. I'd love to meet any of the best photographers of our time...or anyone who is better than me (trust me it's not that hard! LOL)(This may be hard for some of ya'll to believe....) You know the idea of meeting or talking to someone new or anyone who might be famous via (e-mail, phone, or in person; is a little intimidating. By nature, I’m actually shy; and I usually don’t make good first impressions due to either saying too much or nothing at all. I really don’t know how to do small talk that well; so I make a lot of people uncomfortable. I don’t mean too. I’m not trying to be nosy but I tend to ask questions… like how are you? I’m one of those strange people that actually wants to know how you are and what’s up with you. As you might guess, questions tend to be seen as invasions of privacy or security risks and it doesn't matter whether the other person is famous or not. Even I realize that; which is why I am never quite sure how to proceed or what to do with my natural curiosity. LOL Another valid concern is that the other person doesn’t know if they can or can’t trust me, because they don't know me like I know me. In today's heightened atmosphere of fear, people tend to be very careful when dealing with people they don't know. I am more careful than I used to be; but I tend to trust people, and that has gotten me into so pretty hairy situations. I understand someone being cautious and leery. Usually, at the first hint of someone being uncomfortable, I tend to back off... but that doesn't always keep me from making a total fool of myself! How do ya'll handle stuff like this? What are your thoughts on this? Sometimes I look at the madhouse surrounding people who are famous... the paparazzi are totally out of control but it's the American public’s curiosity fueling the frenzy. Could you imagine what it must be like to have absolutely no privacy? I mean some of these folks can't even go to the bathroom without someone trying to catch them doing so! That would drive me nuts! In that kind of environment... how can you always stay polite and kind? At some point it's gonna get to you...& you're going to react in very human ways. I'm a photographer... I wouldn't even dream of trying to take photos of any of them without their permission but even more than that... ok I know I am different, but the money isn't worth it! They deserve some privacy. Most famous people are pretty generous and probably would allow photos if people would just ask and be reasonable about it... although I don't know this as a matter of fact. As always... I can give you a good example of me being a complete idiot... again... yea I know... when am I not? I actually wrote a letter to a very talented and as it turns out very gracious, generous & talented young star. I'd just gotten on MySpace and had been thinking of writing him for like a year and when I first started thinking about it… the letter was like 20 pages long and I knew he'd throw it in the trash LOL. Long story, short... I actually got it to a page and I actually sent it! Yea, this was the first time I'd ever done something like that! He answered me and in my enthusiasm I wrote back immediately and probably totally freaked him out a second time! I know if I were him I would have trashed both letters and written me off as some crazy fool; and I'm the one who wrote them! But, I know me and I know my intentions were good and I really wanted to get to know him; but he didn't know me from Adam. Now I have numerous famous people on MySpace who are friends; and since then, I have just kept distant for fear of freaking anyone else out. I leave MySpace comments or keep things very short like great record or movie or show or whatever. My problem is that I actually want to get to know my friends. I now have over 500. I don't know how to get to know so many. I am trying to actually talk or chat with a number of people but I really hesitate cuz my husband thinks you can't have real relationships on the net and because of the privacy thing. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?Any kind of discussion with the following people would be cool.... maybe in my dreams... Jake & Maggie Gyllenhaal, Denzel Washington, George Clooney, Ellen Degeneres, Bono, Maya Angelou, Whoopi Goldberg, Jodie Foster, Kim Delaney, Garrison Keillor, Jon Stewart, Wanda Sykes, Neil Armstrong, Sally Ride, Tavis Smiley, Sinbad, Bill Cosby, Bill Mahre, Johnny Depp, Lewis Black, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Neil Young, John Prine, Eric Clapton, Aaron Neville, K D Lang, Peter Paul & Mary, Bette Middler, Nanci Griffith, EmmyLou Harris, Ottmar Liebert, The Neville Brothers, Dr. John, The Cottars, Daniel Lanois, Leonard Cohen, Cassandra Wilson, Kris Kristofferson, Marshall Chapman, Joan Baez, Bonnie Raitt, Judy Collins, Anne Murray, Queen Latifah, Noam Chomsky, Jeff Corwin, Tracy Chapman, Nelson Mandela, Chris Evert, Billie Jean King, Reggie Jackson, Willie McCovey, Ron Paul, Barrack & Michelle Obama & Anderson Cooper. So often, when we talk about who we'd like to meet, we mention famous people; but there are countless extraordinary ordinary people who help people who are less fortunate than them or raise awareness about problems or causes/crises/natural disasters all the time and they never or rarely get recognized. These people are really the true heroes. They don't make the big bucks but these people influence and change people's lives for the better. I bet you can name five people off the top of your head that you know that have that kind of impact on you or your community. They are all over MySpace. They are in your churches and neighborhoods. They are in your schools and towns. They are in your cities. They work in all kinds of jobs. Some don't work; they volunteer or are in school; or they just hang out and give of themselves. Finally we're getting to a point that we recognize the efforts of our military, firefighters, and police officers. Most of the people working in these fields mean well. I'd love to meet some of these wonderful people!!!!!!!! I am meeting them & they are amazing & usually so humble & graceous. I would be honored to meet the following folks as they stand in the gap daily sharing their hearts and lives for Christ... Tyler Perry, Michael Card, Chuck Girard, Jimmy Carter, John-Michal Talbot, Marc Shultz, Todd Agnew, Don Francisco, Max Lucado, & anyone or everyone who is living their lives for Christ and being a testimony for the world! I salute anyone who puts their money where their mouth is & backs up their words with actions. I will support & lift up & help anyone who is Christ's hand extended to hurting & dying people! My prayer is that we learn to serve in love & bring hope to not only those around us but to those we don't know as well; to our communities & neighborhoods; to our cities; to our towns; to our friends & strangers; to everyone. It's amazing what a simple "Hi, How are you?" or "Hi, How can I help you?" will do. That's a start; see where you can go from there!!!!! It's a little late but it would have been cool to talk to or meet the most awesome photographer of all time Ansel Adams; & some of the following: Jesus while He was on earth, The Apostles, First Century Christians, Shakespeare, Dickens, Leonardo Da Vinci, Will Rogers, Chief Sitting Bull, Geronimo, Corrie Tin Boom, Helen Keller, Tuskegee Airmen, Rosa Parks, Medgar Evers, Harriet Tubman, Jesse Owens, Ryan White, Jim Thorpe, Arthur Ashe, Michelangelo, Abe Lincoln, Ben Franklin, John & Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King & Coretta Scott King, The Roosevelts, Jesse Owens, Christa McCauliffe, C S Lewis, Tolkien, Samuel Clements/Mark Twain, Thomas Jefferson, Anne Frank, Mother Theresa, Huey Long, Rich Mullins, Galileo, George Washington Carver, Sojourner Truth, Keith Green, Flo Jo, Watchman Nee, Eric Liddle, Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday, Shirley Horn, Roy Orbison, & so many wonderful & colorful characters of science and history & culture! Whew... bet you thought I'd never finisth this section! LOL
