About Me

Those who know me see me as: a teacher, artist, writer, traveler, learner, lover, thinker, doer, Reiki master, friend and extraverted introvert! At this time, I find myself teaching Art to teenagers in the public school system, promoting the book I just finished writing (The Art of Organization: A Teaching Resource for Art Teachers) and creating work with Art and Words.I am working on finishing my website: www.barbaraburns.ca (‘ca’ because it is a Canadian site) which will feature my Words and Artwork. I’ll let you know when it’s done!!! As for my Artwork, I have had numerous showings and my work is hanging on the walls of people from various fields (politics, athletics, business, spiritual and personal)..... ..I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!

My Interests

Art, music, writing, teaching, doing my thing in a uniquely 'Barbara' way.... Here are some journal creations:Here are some of my past Art creations:

I'd like to meet:

I'm always open to introductions... whether you are interested in my work as an artist or writer, or me as a person!!! My friends over the years have come from a variety of backgrounds and interests. Variety adds spice to life. I think life would be pretty monochromatic if one was friends with only one 'type' of humans. To give you a sense of this, in my Univeristy days while I was getting my Education degree, I was obtaining my Fine Arts degree, playing on a Varsity Team and doing my thing to help others... 4 different worlds, with different people, and I loved it; in fact, I still do!!! However, my friends all seem to have a strong sense of self and are comfortable in their own skin. They seem to laugh easily, think objectively yet passionately, and enjoy the sensory yummies of this world (body, mind and soul!).

Music:

There's not much I don't like... I have close to 1000 CD's and continue to buy more!

Books:

Tons of art books...
