About Me

A pregnancy usually lasts about 9 months. 9 months is also the time it has taken for Jocelyn from Oslo, Norway to carry its own baby, the self-titled debut album Jocelyn, to completion. It's a focused album, relying on the 11 impressive songs in a musical landscape inspired by rock, folk and country. The band was formed in the fall of 2005 by guitar player, singer and songwriter Håkon Møller. The current line-up, which has played together since 2006, consists of bass player Kristoffer Asknes and drummer Snorre Smørgrav in addition to Møller. The trio format has resulted in a characteristic, down to earth sound where less is more – something which has found its way onto the album. The band plays all the instruments itself, only accompanied by Anders Sørås on the pedal steel guitar and banjo. Part of the recordings was done by Kai Christoffersen, who’s previously produced a Norwegian Grammy Award-winning album for bluegrass band Ila Auto. The majority, however, was recorded at Kristoffer Asknes’ home studio. The album was produced by Kristoffer Asknes and Håkon Møller and mastered at Cosmos Mastering in Stockholm, Sweden.
