About Me

I believe everyone will do anything for something.(But most people do everything for nothing.)

My Interests

Writing poetry, short fiction, Book Without A Name, non-fiction, creative non-fiction, academic articles, blogs, blurbs, bullshit; perception phenomena; logical positivism; researching everything; hypertexting the universe; distance learning and the teaching of college composition; cognitive science; philosophy, particularly ontology and epistemology; visual media as they pertain to uniting/educating/inspiring humans; computer science and engineering as they pertain to how one can relate (analogize) them to the processes of the human mind; biology as it relates to sex and sexuality (and avoiding hangovers); conflating all the "schools" in higher education to embrace a more pluralistic perspective; minimizing environmental damage in the everyday use of everything; liberation and liberty for ALL, including (gasp!) women, minorities, and the poor--who tend to be women and minorities; progressive policy; nanotechnology in its capabilities to see the unseen; AI in just about every potential it has, cybernetics in its capabilities to make humans last longer, think smarter, function more efficiently; ART in all forms; MUSIC in all forms; people in general. And love-hugs-kisses, drunken revelry, subculture, counterculture, independence, and DIY.

I'd like to meet:

Humanists, IT people, publishers!, scientists, broadcasters, educators, literati, artists, musicians, policy-makers, revelers, people who love the world but still want to make it better for everyone--and most importantly people who will hire me to do something creative, interactive, and meaningful...or give me grants to write/research. Changing the world ain't free.*At this point, meeting ANYONE, actually, in person, with a conversation going two ways, would be nothing short of a miracle. How many people are there in New York? I haven't met a single one of them.

Music:

Right now, people who play in subway stations for hat tips.

Movies:

Life. I would like to meet Stanley Kubrick, though, and David Lynch. And Steven Spielberg, and Sophia Coppola. All the rest of the good ones don't speak English, I think, so our conversations would have to be charades. Rather thinkers than "celebrities."

Television:

Life.

Books:

Hopscotch by Julio Cortazar

Everything and Nothing by Jorge Borges

Heroes:

Aristotle, Homer, Lao Tze, Galileo, Copernicus, Joan of Arc, Benjamin Franklin, Einstein, Kurzweil and his people.

My Blog
