I am here for Friends

About Me

Hi my name is Neil and I'm 48 and married with 3 children, one of them attending Uni. I am a committed prog rocker with my fave band Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Free MySpace Layouts by Iron Spider

My Interests

I am a Scout Leader so that takes up a lot of time. I own a Yamaha Fazer 600, hence an interest in Motorcycles. Prog Rock of Course, and playing with computers, mainly doing videos. My Scout group web page: http://6thcramscouts.orange.co.uk it needs updating I know.I've now had my pipes for 6 months and am busy learning. My tutor thinks I am coming along nicely. I'm trying to sort out recording myself backed by my two sons on guitar. ..

I'd like to meet:

I would like to meet any of ELP. I've already Met Carl Palmer and I'm hoping to meet the other two before it's too late. Also any other people who are into Prog Rock to disscuss the merits over other inferior types of music. ..

Music:

Most Prog Rock especially ELP also Genesis, Yes, Jethro Tull and a lot of others. I'm well into the blues, mostly the electric kind, like Eric Clapton and the Blues Brothers, but have a soft spot for Big Bill Broonzy. Also love harmonica driven blues especially Sonny Terry and Paul Lamb. Also since I've joined myspace, check out EMP and Metronomics. Look in my friends and click on their links. I'll think you'll be pleasantly surprised. ..

Movies:

Comedies mostly too many to mention. Can't stand Chick Flicks but can get into adventures. ..

Television:

Again comedies mostly and documentaries. Can't stand soaps or reality TV. ..

Books:

Terry Pratchett mostly and autobiographies especially people from the funnier side of life. My wife has bought me the collective works of Sherlock Holmes and I need to add my yearly reading of the LOTR trilogy. ..

Heroes:

Keith Emerson, as he has to be the best keyboard player ever. Even when he does his antics with the organ. Carl Palmer, when I was a drummer I tried to play like him but never get the speed needed. Pauline Cato, who plays the Northumbrian Pipes with amazing speed and dexterity. ..

Pipes coming along nicely
