Ruben James is a singer/songwriter from london.
At the age of nine Ruben first started playing the drums, guitar and singing along to his mothers old LPs such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Santana, motown and many others. Eventuallyat the age of seventeen Ruben joined a band and the most successfull gig was supporting the Lost Prophets in London, Camden.
After a while the singer left and the band broke up, leaving Ruben to turn his back on the drums and start taking the guitar and his songwriting abilities further.
After many dismal demos, and embarassing gigs Ruben started to create a confidence in his writing and performances and started to produce mind blowing performances none other than the sell out crowd of 450 at the Young Vic Theatre in Waterloo 2006. The most succesfull gig since then was the live performance on Capital radio with Jonny Vaughn performing Love you gently which was an old track available on Rubens acoustic EP. (to purchase please send a message). Since then Ruben has concentrated more on his writing than performing and is currently working on an album with the help of Neil Thom and Running Frog Studios in Windsor. The album is a collaboration of R&B, Acoustic and soul based influences. It is due for release in March including 2 of the tracks on his myspace page
