I would like to meet people who genuinely have a love for the Hip Hop culture. Of course I would like to meet people who are positive and uplifting, as well as those wanting to do collaborations in music, poetry and rap. I am also available to hostess such events.

The scarier the better. The more suspense the better. You can throw in a some comedy too and maybe a little drama. My all time favorite movies are:
Untouchables
Hotel Rwanda
Love Jones
Brown Sugar
Claudine
The Disappearance of Garcia Lorca

I don’t watch TV much but when I do it is probably a cartoon like Family Guy, South Park or King of the Hill. When I remember it’s on, I try to catch The Shield as well. Yawl got to see the Shield at least once. It's on FX on Tuesday nights at 10pm. Good show.

What I want to know is...when is Teri Woods gonna finish the Dutch trilogy?!! Dutch I and II ain't to be played with. You gotta read it to believe it. That's a baaaaaaddd writer right there! So is Wahida Clark and her "Thugs and the Women Who Love Them". Ooooweee...I had to write that girl a later. Anyone who can write a damn good novel like that, with the flavor of Donald Goins, in a style all her own, from the confines of a prsion wall, deserves her props. Mad love to you, Momi. Hold it down and keep it up. I can't forget one of the fellas...K'Wan and his masterpiece of urban fiction "Hoodlum". Shai Clark and Gator will forever be my imaginary men. LOL Thanks K'Wan.
I absolutely LOVE J. California Cooper's "Family" and Octavia Bulter's (R.I.P.) "Kindred" are a must read. "Kindred"...that darn book should be a movie it's so good!!! E. Lynn Harris' "Any Way the Wind Blows", Sonia Sanchez' "We a BaaadddDD People", Dean Koonz' "Strange Highways", "From the Corner of His Eye" and "The Face". As well as anything by Federico Garcia Lorca...anything!! And let's not forget the King of Dark Thoughts, Mr. Edgar Allen Poe. Have you ever read The Raven? That dude was a f*cking genious! And they wouldn't publish him when he was alive because they thought he was insane. Idiots.
I spend a lot of time reading and evaluating writing styles. On the average I may read 3-4 books or novels per week.
Hey...my book is pretty darn good too! You should read it!

Let's see what you've really been reading.
When I first started writing, my poetry was very flowery. Then I heard about Sonia Sanchez. That was back in 94 maybe 96. I went to the library and checked out all her books. I read a poem called A Poem for Some Women. It touched me so deeply that I had to put the book down for a couple of days. I was like Wow! I can say that? I can tell people how I really feel? My writing has never been the same since. Sonia Sanchez is my all time hero.On a personal level, my 20 year old is a hero to me. In spite of all the drama that we have had as a family she graduated at the top of her class and is doing her thing at Hampton University. I am SOOOOO proud of her. She inspires me when I cant see my way.
