ABOUT THE PAGE NAME:Spirit of a Man's heart represents, obtaining the true characteristics that god has designed a Man to be. It is having a "love" first and for most for God loving him so that it hurts to be out of his will, seeking his destiny for you, loving your family, loving others so that it burdens your heart to see the hurt and not caring that you may be inconvienienced in order to help, To take our young people and help mold them by being a example even if you have to sacrifice. That's what I believe is wrapped up in a true spirit of a Man's heart...ABOUT ME:Born with the name DARIUS DARRELL THORN, At the early age of 4 yrs old a display of music talent was shown by a young boy that was thought to be a child very advanced vocally for his age. At 6 yrs old, he figured out how to use 2 tape recorders and record a melody line on one tape recorder and he would play it back, harmonize with it while taping with the second recorder. He would keep this up untill he had a three part harmonizing background. He would also add lead vocals to the session. His mom and dad thought him to be special and continued to encourage him. At the age of 12 he became interested in playin the keyboards. Six months later he was playing for his church choir and at 15 yrs old his parents allowed him to take on his first job as a church musician. He soon went on taking on jobs as minister of music, choir director for many different churches and community groups. He has now devoloped into an experienced vocal and instrumental musician with over twenty years of progressively responsible roles in the gospel industry. Accomplished vocalist, musician and choir director for all ages. Just to name a few events,,,,,2007- Backup singer for recording artist Byron Cage at the Stellar Awards. Also served as personal assistant and workshop musician to Byron cage.2007- Served as music director for the Waymon A.M.E church in Baltimore Maryland.2006 – Served as youth choir director of the Greater St john Bible Church. Awarded First Place in the All City Gospel Challenge of Chicago - Youth Competition.2002 - Winner of Male Vocalist of the Year in San Diego County, California. Member of many locally presented musical productions.1997 - Vocalist and Songwriter for “The Shakin’ With Praise†live recording sponsored by the new Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church of Albuquerque, New Mexico.1995 – 1998 - Vocalist, songwriter and musician for the stellar award wining artists Mark Hubbard and The United Voices for Christ. Darius has appeared on the same stage in the capacity as a musician/singer with many of the industries major artist to name a few: Byron Cage, Donald Lawrence, Pastor DeAndre Patterson, The Clark sisters, Kirk Franklin, Mark Hubbard, John P Kee, Richard Smallwood, Ricky Dilliard and many others.DURING THIS MUSICAL JOURNEY OF HIS LIFE, HE TOOK OUT 5 YRS OF HIS LIFE TO SERVE HIS COUNTRY IN THE UNITED STATES NAVY 1998-2003,,,, UPON RETURNING IN 03, HE BEGAN HIS MUSIC CAREER AGAIN WITH THE GREATER ST JOHN YOUTH CHOIR AS DIRECTOR WHICH LASTED 3 1/2 YRS. DURING THIS SHORT TIME, THE CHOIR BECAME AN AWARD WINNING CHOIR 2YRS STRAIGHT, AND DRAWING STANDING ROOM ONLY AUDIENCES FOR MUSICALS AND CONCERTS. TO GOD BE THE GLORY !!!!!!!!!!!Darius is now a member of the Destiny Worship center church, under the leadership of Pastor DeAndre Patterson located in chicago Illinois.
