About Me

A Perfect Circle Lyrics

myspace background

"I embrace my desire to feel the rhythm, to feel connected enough to step aside and weep like a widow to feel inspired, to fathom the power, to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain, to swing on the spiral of our divinity and still be a human."

"With my feet upon the ground I lose myself between the sounds and open wide to suck it in, I feel it move across my skin. I'm reaching up and reaching out, I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me. And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been. We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been."

For fun, I love to play guitar, sing, write, read, drink beer (I'm a bit of a beer snob--that is, I'd rather savor the smell of a drop of Guinness than drink a truckload of Budweiser, Coors or Miller.)I love going to concerts, hanging out with my friends, hiking, camping and I absolutely love to travel.

MY BABIES --

By Day: I manage a couple different businesses. Nothing state of the art, cutting edge or fantastic, but if you're interested in knowing more, you can email me. (Let's just say it involves lots of paperwork-- invoicing, collections, accounting, month-end closing, stuff like that.... oh, and LOTS of quarters. Hehehe)

Having a "job" puts food on the table, but one must also feed the soul... so you can always find me within arms length of anything involving music. I have been in a few bands (many years ago) played bass, rhythm guitar, keys and even lead vocals for a while. I volunteered for 4 years at KNAC radio (from 88-92 when it was in Long Beach) and have managed a couple bands on the side through the years. I have an Associate of Arts in Music and Bachelors Degree in Business Management. (So much for the theory that college students never use the major they study in school! HA!)

my current "musical" project is volunteering for a group called RushCon-- (which is basically a three-day party for fans of the band Rush.) It's held in Toronto each summer and involves lots of music, parties, entertainment, games and networking! We have contests, open mic/karaoke, tribute band concerts, games and lots o' beer drinkin... We've had guest speakers such as Terry Brown, Howard Ungerleider, Andrew MacNaughtan, Donna Halper to name a few .... Hundreds of fans from all over the world attend each year... it's really a great weekend for fans of Rush or any music lover!

You can check out our website at: www.rushcon.org
I am here at MySpace to keep in touch with my friends, stay in the loop via bulletins and announcements for certain bands I like, and just basically hang out. One thing I'n NOT here for is dating or anything like that.... not to be rude, but if you try and add me and I don't know you or we have absolutely nothing in common, I probably wont respond. Nothing personal, I just want to be clear from the beginning.

..

I know not if this earth on which I stand is the core of the universe or if it is but a speck of dust lost in eternity. I know not and I care not. For I know what happiness is possible to me on earth. And my happiness needs no higher aim to vindicate it."

-Anthem by Ayn Rand

The Perfect Man

You Are a "Don't Tread On Me" Libertarian
You distrust the government, are fiercely independent, and don't belong in either party.Religion and politics should never mix, in your opinion... and you feel opressed by both. You don't want the government to cramp your self made style. Or anyone else's for that matter. You're proud to say that you're pro-choice on absolutely everything! What political persuasion are you?
"I swear by my life, and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.
I am not primarily an advocate of capitalism, but of egoism; and I am not primarily an advocate of egoism, but of reason. If one recognizes the supremacy of reason and applies it consistently, all the rest follows."
--Ayn Rand
Widespread intellectual and moral docility may be convenient for leaders in the short term, but it is suicidal for nations in the long term. One of the criteria for national leadership should therefore be a talent for understanding, encouraging, and making constructive use of vigorous criticism.

--Carl Sagan

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

~ John Stuart Mill

Age is opportunity no less than youth itself, though in another dress. And as the evening twilight fades away, the sky is filled with stars invisible by day.

--Henry Wadsworth Longfellow..

Yep, I'm a RAIDERS fan.... you wanna make something of it, punk?

The Fish (February 19 - March 20 ) Pisces need to explore their world through their emotions. They feel things so deeply that quite often they become a kind of psychic sponge, absorbing the emotions of people around them. Because of this, they should choose their friends and associates carefully.People born under this sign usually have wonderful imaginations and great creative resources. They gravitate toward the arts in general and to theatre and film in particular. In the business world, they tend to make powerful administrators and managers because they are so attuned to the thoughts of the people around them.Pisces people need time alone so that they can detach from the emotions of people around them and center themselves. Without periodic solitude, it becomes increasingly difficult for them to sort out what they feel from what other people feel. They are very impressionable. They also tend to be moody because they feel the very height of joy and the utter depths of despair.Love and romance are essential for most Piscean individuals. It fulfills them emotionally and they generally flourish within stable relationships.Pisces, represented by the fish swimming in opposite directions, can be ambivalent and indecisive simply because they are so impressionable. In highly evolved types, mystical tendencies are well developed and the individuals possess deeply spiritual connections. There are two types of Pisces individuals .. the whale and the dolphin. The first tends to be physically large, in height and in weight. The second tends to be smaller, more graceful. The whale often looks awkward when he walks, as if his feet are too small for the rest of him. His dolphin counterpart is, in contrast, like a dancer, at home with his body. The extraordinary eyes that are typical of the Pisces individual are exemplified in the violet eyes of Elizabeth Taylor.Since Pisces rules the feet, most individuals with a Pisces Sun, Moon, or Ascendant benefit from foot massage and foot reflexology.

My Interests

Music, Philosophy, Astronomy, Reading, Writing, Football, Hockey, Good Beer and more recently, Good Wine!

Shakespeare, Edgar Allen Poe, Abraham Lincoln, Ayn Rand, Carl Sagan and D.H. Lawrence. Oh.. and this guy... (for the wine, of course)

Music:

I love all music, so long as it's good... It all comes down to the performance and the integrity of the musicians.
That being said, I'll listen to just about any kind of music, but I do tend to gravitate toward hard rock and what some have called "Art" or "Prog" rock. I am also positively ADDICTED to old school funk!

Some of my favorite bands are, of course, Rush.... also the Rheostatics, Stevie Wonder, Medeski Martin and Wood, the Beatles, the Police, Tool, Steely Dan, Yes, Pink Floyd, Oysterhead (please make another album!!) Iron Maiden, Parliament/Funkadelic, Queensryche, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Buttless Chaps, New MaximumDonkey ... gosh, I could name thousands, I'm sure....

"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't exist." - Verbal

Television:

TV is mostly background noise.

I use Tivo to capture stuff for when I do have time to sit and watch.. shows I tape are: Lost, Survivor What not to Wear, Carl Sagan's - Cosmos (remastered, very cool), UFO Files, MXC, Jeopardy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Cartoon Planet and the Brak Show.
