UPDATE AS OF 4/8/08: Two things: 1) Check out my blog about spending time with The De Leo Brothers of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS this past Monday night; and, 2) After much consideration, Charles and I have decided to add another song to the upcoming new CD. It will be a second cover song, a cool, sexy song that is hooky and just wonderful and begging to be recorded with a modern arrangement, which I have done. Charles will be laying down his vocals in May right after SERAPHIM SHOCK'S show at Bar Sinister/Hollywood May 31st. Flo (my engineer) has to fit us in between The De Leo Brothers and Rocco de Luca. I hoping for an August release now so wish us luck. Cheers, everyone!
Just found this: Check out a CNN article on the Houdini Mansion STP party/concert which mentions Ted (my boyfriend) three times:

UPDATE AS OF 2/18/08: Whew! My "down time" isn't down time at all anymore! Plus, after New Year's, I got the flu but as of this week I'm back doing "mix fixes" for the upcoming new CD "ANCIENT DELERIUM." Delays are a drag but they were all legitimate. Plus, quality takes time and the new CD will definitely be worth the wait. Love To All! ~ Carol Tatum
UPDATE AS OF 10/2/07: Wouldn't you know it! Right in the middle of trying to finish the CD, I have to stop and do TAXES! Not fair! I've post-poned my photoshoot because I don't want to have "tax angst" on my face while shooting the photos! On a better note, I recorded the wonderful female vocalist Tal B (she's on YouTube in a video with Run DMC). She is doing powerful east Indian vocalizations and improv on Song #9 and she is delightful! She and I even did middle eastern bedouin calls and had a blast in the studio, laughing and cracking up because we sounded so good together and had so much fun. Flo and I have to arrange and mix her vocals and then we can master ~ yeah! Meanwhile, Charles is doing his photoshoot and the graphic artist I've chosen for the CD booklet is the amazing Crystal (who is also DJ Catalyst Echo and spins goth here in L.A.). I'm very happy to have her at the helm guiding the artwork and anticipate great looking graphics. New release date? Unknown but will now be in 2008 due to delays beyond my control with Flo's schedule, etc. It's okay! Quality takes time. : ) ~Carol Tatum
UPDATE AS OF 9/5/07: Nine final mixes and one to go!
~ Carol Tatum
UPDATE AS OF 6/30/07: Charles Edward (the vocalist) just left back to Denver a few days ago. He laid down vocals to the final two songs for the new CD, one of which is Led Zeppelin's "Friends" and to say I am pleased is an understatment. Charles did a fantastic job on all the songs and for those of you who are SERAPHIM SHOCK fans, you will get to see a side of Charles you've never seen before and one that I am SURE you will love. I just recorded a top notch session oboe player yesterday for a song called "Courtesan Suite" and his playing was simply divine and, well, perfect. I have a few more players to record and then we finally mix! I don't have a release date yet but it will be by late Summer or early Fall. Recording always takes longer than you think and quality takes time. I know everyone thinks this about their new "baby," but I feel this will be my best CD ever. And since I'm back to playing electric guitar again, I feel I've come "full circle", from acoustic guitar to electric guitar to mandolin to harp and now back to acoustic and electric guitar. A Perfect Circle! Take care everyone. ~Carol Tatum

NEW CD DESCRIPTION: My new 2008 CD will sound like an off-shoot of "The Sins Of Salome" (song #2 below) and "Queen Of The Sun" (song #3 below) so have a listen, especially all you beautiful belly dancers! "Sins Of Salome" is on Jeramiah Soto's "Strange Flesh" gothic belly dance compilation CD and Jeramiah will also be a guest drummer along with Seraphim Shock vocalist Charles Edward and Page/Plant violinist Eric Gorfain. Christina Linhardt's angelic, clear soprano will grace several songs. I'll also be working again with my long-time (10+ years) mix/engineer, the fabulous Florian ("Go With The Flo") Ammon, who has worked with Van Halen, Rammstein, Quincy Jones, Mariah Carey, LL Cool J, Rocco de Luca and more. This 2007 CD will have an amazing team of talent! Plus, I've pulled my electric guitar out of the closet and will be wailing on a track or two.
By the way, this page is pretty long...because I have a lot to say!

I Love Music. I'm sooooo tempted to say I'm more musician than woman but I like high heels too much! I love Ted & my family & animals & classical & medieval music & music composition/arrangement/recording & belly dance & real estate & clothes/shoes/jewelry/makeup & massages & antiques & exotic home decor & Starbucks & Daphne's Greek Cafe & more...so much more...
BELIEFS: My beliefs? Gnostic/Cathar/Buddist/Christian hybrid. I'd love to play harp in heaven once I get there. I love religious history and archeology so much. I wanted to be an archeologist when I was in 4th grade (and a race car driver).
I'D LIKE TO MEET: Leonardo da Vinci, Titian, Belgian painter M. Fernand Khnopff, Pre-Raphaelite painter John Waterhouse, Belgian painter Jean Delville, Beethoven, Grieg (ah, Grieg... :::sighs:::), Bach...especially Bach!, Jimmy Page & Robert Plant (I dedicated the song on this page "Lionheart" to both of them - it's from my 2nd CD "Awake Inside A Dream" - it's one of my best songs), Jimi Hendrix, Ramses The Great, Hatshepsut, Ahkenaten, Aristotle, Einstein, Kepler, Paramahansa Yogananda, Rumi, Joseph Campbell, Edgar Cayce, Sir Thomas More, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Elizabeth I, Saladin, Prof. W. W. Tatum, all of my relatives back to the Dark Ages, the Plantagenets and the Montegues and the Angevins, Hildegard von Bingen, King Alfonso the Wise, Charlemagne, Countess Beatriz de Dia, Joan D'Arc, Stephen Hawking, Alexander The Great, William Shakespeare, J. R. R. Tolkien, Poet W. B. Yeats, Lord Byron (I think!), Henry David Thoreau, Manley Palmer Hall, all of our Founding Fathers and Freemasons (MY GRANDFATHER WAS A MASON AND A MEMBER OF THE KNIGHTS TEMPLAR), all my relatives that ever extisted, Jimmy Carter, ..ary filmmaker Bram Roos (R.I.P.), Director Ridley Scott - I did a charity gig with Stephen Stills and tried to meet him but he wouldn't give me the time of day, the jerk... :::chuckles::: What I'd really like (my fantasy) is to meet all of the genuinely good, kind, nice people out there living in the world and have a killer catered party in a lush forest with music and massages for everyone and give everyone a harp to learn to play and then run through an English maze and whoever finds the center of the maze gets a five carat emerald and a little box that, when you open it up, it says that all the pain and suffering and war and tragedy in the world is forever gone!I LIKE PRE-RAPHAELITE IMAGRY:

You scored as Angel. Angel: Angels are the guardians of all things, from the smallest ant to the tallest tree. They give inspiration, love, hope, and positive emotion. They live among humans without being seen. They are the good in all things, and if you feel alone, don't fear. They are always watching. Often times they merely stand by, whispering into the ears of those who feel lost. They would love nothing more then to reveal themselves, but in today's society, this would bring havoc and many unneeded questions. Give thanks to all things beautiful, for you are an Angel.

MUSIC: Music is my raison d'etre. There's really not much else to say about it. It's finally nice to have a sense of entitlement in the world and know who you are.
MOVIES: Too many to list but off the top of my head: ROMEO & JULIET (Franco Zefferelli's version) is my all-time favorite...such cinematography!, such costuming! EXQUISITE!! Also, A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS (Paul Scofield as Sir Thomas More and Vanessa Redgrave as Anne Bolyn; this movie looks like an actual moving Rembrandt painting! SUBLIME!); MISTS OF AVALON with Julianna Margoles, UNDERWORLD I & II (can I be Kate Beckinsale, please?), ANNE OF THE THOUSAND DAYS (with Richard Burton & Genevieve Bujold)
Also, Excalibur, Legend, Fantasia, Amadeus, Impromtu, Rob Roy, Braveheart, Cromwell (with Richard Harris), Dangerous Liasons, Queen Margot (with Isabelle Adjani), Elizabeth (with Cate Blanchett), Elizabeth R (with Glenda Jackson), Farinelli, Count Of Monte Cristo (with Jim Caveziel), Girl With A Pearl Earring, Arabian Nights, Brotherhood Of The Wolf, The Red Violin, all the Lord of the Rings movies, Underworld, Interview With The Vampire, Dracula (with Bela Lugosi), Dracula: The Dark Prince, Gothic, The 13th Warrior, Monty Python And The Holy Grail (yes, I know a lot of the dialog and own the script!), The Crow, Master & Commander, I Dreamed Of Africa, Sophie's Choice, Harold & Maude, One Few Over The Cuckoo's Nest, The Bird Cage, What Dreams May Come
1950s movies such as The Innocents (Debra Kerr), The Dark Angel (with Peter O'Toole), Cleopatra (Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton), Ulysses with Kirk Douglas, the Sinbad movies, all the "sword & sandals" movies from that time, in fact, the scenes where the harem girls are dancing for the sultan inspire me to write soundtrack music (an example will be on my new CD).
ACTORS: Sir Lawrence Olivier, Peter O'Toole, Richard Burton, Glenda Jackson, Judy Davis, Miranda Richardson, Gary Oldman, Johnny Depp, Sean Penn, Tilda Swinton, Maggie Smith, Daniel Day Lewis, Timothy Dalton, all the Shakespearean trained actors

HEROS: My Dad, God.
Love Jospeh Campbell and Paramahansa Yogananda - no glitz, no glamour, just the real deal! They walked the talk. And photographer Wayne Shoenfeld. Wayne is an extremely successful, incredible photographer and all he cares about is giving his money away to charities ahd helping people! (i.e., he "walks the talk"). Wayne is doing a documentary on "Doctors Without Borders" in Ethiopia and he asked me if he could use Angels Of Venice music for it! I couldn't be happier ~ this is a dream come true for me to contribute something like this and Wayne is one of my Heros for no B.S. and for truly "walking the talk!"
