Get more at Atyourspace.com mudflap myspace layout Dirty Ride, formerly known as Owen's Tortoise formed in the winter of 1997 as a result of Shaun Stanger (drummer, singer & songwriter) and Jordan Merriman (singer, songwriter & guitarist) advertising in a local store for band members. Andy Kelday (guitarist) replied, had a jam and was welcomed into Jordan and Shaun's warm bosom. The band needed a bassist and long time chum Daniel Gould filled the void... Owens Tortoise was born!The band always aspired to be different and with varying influences including 60's rock, blues, heavy metal and country they soon came up with their own sound. Many a night was spent drinking and jamming and before long they had enough songs to record their first demo.The band drifted apart for various reasons and Shaun moved away in 2000. Eveerybody worked on other projects, time passed and Owen's Tortoise became a distant memory until Shaun moved back in 2006 and reformed the old band. A new start needed a new name - Dirty Ride seemed to be the obvious choice. Over the years their music had matured and with it came a new original sound.
