I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

So... about me.... Well, I think I've been a little defined. A little crazy... a little innocent, naive. A little parental (can't help that). But, full of love for my family and for my friends. I was born in New York City on September 19, 1976 and lived there for 26 years of my life. I come from South American descent with a little Italian thrown in from my mom's side and other nationalities on my dad's part. My grandparents raised me, but I always had my mom around. I have one younger brother, Jorge. He is my favorite person in the entire world. (Besides my husband, that is :) I love Jorge because he is honest, sincere, and is always who he is no matter what the circumstances. I have one daughter, Rowan. She is the love of my life. But, I must admit, she's given me premature gray hairs. Motherhood is very hard. It is one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done in my life. And, I have done a lot. But, I’m trying my very best to give her a wonderful and open-minded kind of life. She is definitely her own person, even at this tender age. I see what is to come. I am scared…. Well, what else can I say? My life is pleasing at this time. But, I always want MORE!!!! That is definitely a weakness on my part. I get easily bored. But, if I’m into something, I’m completely engrossed in it. My hubby says I’m OCD (Obsessive Compulsive). I won’t stop until I’ve sucked the juice out of it. I love Music, as you can hear. But, I especially love discovering new and unknown bands. There is something so pure and raw about a band or singer that hasn't been blemished by the commerciality of this society. It is a passion of mine and I hope I can definitely be of help in promoting up and coming bands. I am currently taking guitar lessons with my hubby who plays a killer guitar. (He will deny it, of course, but he does!) And, I’m thinking about taking voice lessons. Just got to see how much it’s going to cost. We are not rich people. I have been singing all my life, but have never had singing lessons, so why not? That is my motto. Try EVERYTHING once in life. I love to travel, books, reading, and meeting new and interesting people; People who have something to offer. I dig intelligence, dedication, sexiness, real beauty and creativity. I am an anti-racist. I love poetry, art in all its forms, wisdom. I’m fond of discussions about religion and spirituality. I love to be questioned, proven wrong. I love being liked. But, if you don’t like me, I don’t give a fuck. I enjoy listening to other languages being spoken. I take great pleasure in learning about different backgrounds and cultures. I like dark and vampires. Things otherworldly. The supernatural. The occult. But, I am highly spiritual. Jesus Christ is my hero. Give me exercising, cardio, kickboxing and Yoga any day!! I love it. This is me.

My Interests

CURRENT MOON What type of vampire are you?
The Sensual Vampire

I'd like to meet:

This was really hard for me. I guess if I had to pick, it would be Dave Gahan; Lead singer of Depeche Mode. Not only meet him, but photograph him. Then I would love to meet and photograph Cristian Bale. My God he is hot!Aside from the obvious celebrity, I love to meet new and interesting people from everywhere and all walks of life.I would also give anything to see my father once more.....

Music:

These are just some of my favorite songs of all time. If I could put 1000 songs on here, I would. But, because I’m limited, I tried to pick the ones that mean a lot to me. Music is such a huge part of my life. Every single song is a tiny moment in history, and all very special to me. From my Goth princess days always dressing in black, spending hundreds of dollars in Greenwich Village buying Victorian style dresses and hanging out with vampires at NYC’s now defunct Goth club “The Bank”, to discovering my South American roots and culture with Spanish Rock. A groupie to bands like Mana, Enanitos Verdes, El Leon, La Ley, King Chango… My crazy metal years… artsy jean jackets with patches, ripped jeans and leather and lets not forget the long long hair! …Being a loner with lots of friends in NYC with hip hop and rap surrounding me and me not giving in to the fad and sticking to my Metal vehemently. Not only did Metal contribute to my self-discovery, it helped shape my sensuality. Discovering classic rock like Led Zep, which by the way, was the very first rock song I heard and I was two years old! My brother’s father played the LP and it stuck in my mind. Years later, I heard “Whole Lotta Love” and it sparked such memories of toddlerhood. My love for all things Rock began at such a tender age. Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here… the first song I learned to play on guitar! Yes guys, I can play guitar now. And then of course, GRUNGE!!!! Oh my God! It was all me. Dark, mysterious, and badass!!! But so philosophical and truth-seeking! And no, it didn’t begin with Nirvana for me. I learned to appreciate them after their popularity peaked. With me, it was Alice In Chains. Need I say more? Then there was Country Rock, which I discovered when I visited my Mom in Florida. Long trips in Greyhound buses passing through so many states and meeting so many people. And finally, settling down with my husband and baby in Florida. The joy of seeing my husband smile at me and filling me with blissful pleasure … my daughter’s laughter and I simply melt. And, all the beautiful new friendships I now have and love dearly. This is what all these songs represent for me. So I invite you to sit back, listen, and enjoy the ride...

Movies:

The path to wisdom begins with a single step. Where people go wrong is ignoring the thousands of other steps that come after it. They decide to become one with the universe and forget to do the things that would give it any kind of meaning.Movies I love: The Bird Cage, Prince of Darkness, all of 80s horror movies especially John Carpenter films, The Lost Boys, My Blue Heaven (I love Steve Martin), Somewhere in Time, Legend, The Dark Crystal, Trainspotting, Equilibrium, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Spinal Tap, Never Been Kissed, The Crow, Immortal Beloved, The Doors, Sid and Nancy, Shindler's List, Like Water For Chocolate, Sixteen Candles, Almost Famous, and Serial Killer movies and documentaries. That's all I can remember for now.

Television:

Don't watch tv, but if I have to, I'll be House, ER, and all plastic surgery shows plus any documentaries on cults and serial killers. (People I'm a psychologist. They're all case studies for me. I'm not a freak. Well, maybe just a little.)

Books:

All Anne Rice novels. She is my favorite author. Then, Pablo Neruda, Isabel Allende. Gosh, from Robert McCammon to Neil Gaiman. I love to read. I'll read everything I can get my hands on, but especially autobiographies, Gothic horror, and real-life event novels. I also love playing the playstation2 role playing games like the Final Fantasy series.

Heroes:

My father is my hero: Gilberto Jacinto Herrera RIP 1924-2003 What type of beauty do you possess?
SENSUAL BEAUTY - You are passionate, sensitive, and a dreamer. You are idealistic and have an excellent imagination. You are also a deep thinker and are very sensitive. Extremely perceptive you are able to pinpoint the emotions of others even if they are trying to hide them. You are sociable and many people like you because you are so affable, compassionate, and empathetic. You feel others pain as deeply as your own and you'd help them before yourself. You are also a highly loving person who needs to be surrounded by people who love you in return.
