About Me

Angelo Trabucco (b. Italy 1976) started studying piano at age 13, at Pescara´s conservatory “L. D’Annunzio”. Brought up in an artistic family, Angelo starts an early & successful career (more than 15 years!) as session musician for various Italian and foreign pop artists. At the mean time he keeps specialising his jazz piano studies at Pescara’s Music Academy, exploring improvisation and composition. Angelo achieves successfully his diploma, under the guidance of known mentors in the field such as Angelo Canelli, Marco Di Battista, Maurizio Rolli and Stefano Zenni. Arrangement and composition are then enhanced through a master like Alfredo Impullitti. Angelo explores further the latin-jazz style, attending private classes and seminaries held by the notorious Venezuelan pianist Otmaro Ruiz.Angelo has performed with many acknowledged local & international artists; to name a few: Maurizio Rolli, Diana Torto, Fabrizio Bosso, Massimo Manzi, Gianluigi Trovesi, Bruno Tommaso,Bob Mintzer, Hiram Bullock, Bob Franceschini,Gianluca Esposito, Max Ionata.2000 is a breakthrough year for Angelo, after he joins A.M.P. Big Band (orchestra of the musical academy where he studied several years) and tours most popular jazz festivals across Italy.In 2001 Angelo joins the recording session of “Moodswings” A.M.P. Big Band first release, having the honour to co-work with extraordinary geniuses of Mike Stern & Michael Manring. In 2003 Wide Sounds, a notorious local jazz indie, releases “Wide Christmas”, a compilation of jazz Xmas tunes where Angelo arranging skills are wonderfully showcased.From 2000 to 2005 Angelo joins in Italian pop sensation Drupi’s band, and tours Italy, also participating to “Sopot Festival” in Poland. Drupi’s band promotes the artist latest cd, and is listed on many popular Italian tv shows such as Dominica In, Video Italia, Mattino in famiglia. Drupi’s last cd production sees Angelo playing and arranging studio tunes as well.In 2005 Angelo plays in various festivals for French-Italian artist Kelly Joyce. Angelo promotes Italian known guitarist Andrea Braido’s latest cd “Sensazioni nel tempo” at Disma Music Show 2006. Angelo joins in march 2006 also the orchestra of RAI TV popular “Notti sul ghiaccio”, hosted by Milly Carlucci. Later in September Angelo becomes the pianist for the orchestra of Channel 5 top broadcast “Reality circus” hosted by Barbara D’Urso.Finally, Angelo has worked as keyboardist and arranger on two projects: -the second cd release of A.M.P. Big Band, led by internationally acclaimed bassist Maurizio Rolli. The cd is titled “Rolli’s tones” and it presents a variety of prestigious guests like Peter Erskine, Mike Stern, Bob Franceschini, Bob Sheppard & Hiram Bullock. -the cd “Tijuana portrait” from Mexican brilliant drummer Israel Varela.Relevance is given to the guest-musicians belonging to the Spanish/Latin scene:Carles Benavent, Alfredo Paixao, Abraham Laboriel,Otmaro Ruiz, Diego Amador,Alex Acuna.
