STEFANO CASALI – Electric Bass (Fretted and fretless bass) Classe 1971, inizia a suonare il basso elettrico all’età di 10 anni in un gruppo pop-rock, prendendo lezioni dal maestro Danilo Versari (bassista di F.Bongusto, Marcella Bella, ecc.). Si interessa poi alla musica jazz approfondendo gli studi di basso e di armonia con il maestro Giuseppe Zanca e partecipando nel 1987 ad un corso jazz di TOMASO LAMA. Diventa poi allievo a Milano di DINO D'AUTORIO (bassista di R.Zero, Cocciante, Mina, l’orchestra di Peppe Vessicchio, ecc...) e frequenta nel 1993 a Imola, un seminario di JOHN PATITUCCI. Continua intanto l’intensa attività live, spaziando tra i generi jazz, funky, latin, fusion e new age, affiancando alcuni dei più attivi musicisti locali e non. Nel 1996 con la fusion band “PROXIMA CENTAURI”, partecipa al “Jaco Pastorius Music Festival” di Coriano facendo da spalla al chitarrista statunitense RANDY BERSEN e con la stessa band si esibisce come dimostratore per la OBERHEIM al MUSIC EXPO’ di Pesaro. Dal 1999 al 2001 è con i COISA FINA, band di musica latin guidata dal brasiliano Ilario Cruz De Oliveira. Dal 2001 al 2006 è con i KHORAKHANE’, progetto dedicato a Fabrizio De Andrè. La band oltre a tenere concerti in tutta Italia, Svizzera e Polonia, ha vinto il premio giuria popolare del concorso Ritmi Globali Europei 2003 di Treviso e si è resa protagonista di numerosi spettacoli teatrali, collaborando tra gli altri con l’attore Franco Mescolini ed ha avuto l’onore di accompagnare DARIO FO. Dal 2001 fa parte della DINO GNASSI CORPORATION (Funky, Rithm’blues, soul, swing, easy listening www.dinognassi.com) con cui ha accompagnato vari artisti come Righeira, Papa Winnie, Piero Focaccia ecc. Ha costituito con il pianista Paolo Sacchetti il FEMEA TRIO, band dalle sonorità jazz, fusion, latin, con l’obiettivo di esplorare le varie possibilità ritmiche e soprattutto l’interplay tra i musicisti, con un sound reso particolare dall’utilizzo del basso fretless e del piano Rhodes. Collabora con il M° Davide Di Gregorio (www.davidedigregorio.com) con cui accompagna ANTONELLA RUGGIERO nel progetto Big Band! e Antonino e Federico, vincitori delle ultime due edizioni di “Amici”. Nel novembre del 2007 partecipa ad una clinic di ALAIN CARON a Bologna. Dall'autunno 2008 bassista di FABIO CONCATO. Ha suonato inoltre con: Montefiori Cocktail, Paola Fabris Group, Joy Salinas,, Stefano Paolini, Giuseppe Zanca, Simone La Maida, Alessandro Scala, Chicco Montefiori, Stefano Serafini, Massimuiliano Rocchetta, Massimo Ferri, Christian Capiozzo, Tommy Graziani, Corrado Cacciaguerra, Luca Meneghello, Fabio Giovanni Malacarne, Luca Piccari, Luca Villani, Max Castri, Innasense, Francesca Romana, Amarcord. Dal 1991 svolge inoltre un’intensa attività didattica presso diverse scuole musicali della Romagna, utilizzando i metodi e i video più diffusi in tutto il mondo ed elaborando materiale proprio. Attualmente insegna presso COSASCUOLA a Forlì e Cesena. Stefano Casali utilizza bassi LEGG.STEFANO CASALI – Electric Bass (Fretted and fretless bass) Born in 1971, while he was taking lessons by his teacher Danilo Versari (F.Bongusto, Marcella Bella, etc.), he started playing the Electric Bass in a pop-rock band at the only age of 10 years. Soon Stefano began to be keen on Jazz music and to get deeper into bass and harmony’s studies thanks to Giuseppe Zanca and taking part to a TOMASO LAMA’s jazz seminary in 1987. Later he became a DINO D’AUTORIO’s student in Milan (bassist of R. Zero, Cocciante, Mina, Peppe Vessicchio’s orchestra etc..) and in 1993 he attended a seminary by JOHN PATITUCCI in Imola. Meanwhile the bassist continued his intense live activity, playing either jazz, funky, latin, fusion and new age music, side by side with many of the most active musicians of the aria and not. With the fusion band “PROXIMA CENTAURI” Stefano took part at the “Jaco Pastorius Music Festival” of Coriano in 1993: in that occasion he stooged for the U.S. guitarrist RANDY BERSEN. With the same band he partecipated as dimostrator for the OBERHEIM at the MUSIC EXPO’ of Pesaro. From 1999 to 2001 he played with COISA FINA, a latin music band leaded by the Brasilian Ilario Cruz De Oliveira. From 2001 to 2006 he joined KHORAKHANE’, a musical project dedicated to Fabrizio De Andrè. The band not only had concerts in Italy, Switzerland, Poland but also won the popular jury prize at the contest of Ritmi Globali Europei 2003 in Treviso. Moreover the band became the main protagonist of many plays, also in collaboration with the actor Franco Mescolini but most of all KHORAKHANE’ had the honor of play for DARIO FO. From 2001 the bassist became part of the DINO GNASSI CORPORATION (Funky, Rithm’blues, soul, swing, easy listening www. dinognassi. com) that supported artists such as Righeira, Papa Winnie, Piero Focaccia etc. With the pianist Paolo Sacchetti he built up the FEMEA TRIO, a band characterized by a jazz, fusion and latin sonority in order to explore all the various rhythmic possibilities and most of all the interplay between musicians, with a sound which is particular thanks to a fretless bass and to the Rhodes piano. The collaboration with M° Davide Di Gregorio (www. davidedigregorio. com) made him play for ANTONELLA RUGGIERO in the Big Band! Project and with Antonino and Federico, the winners of the last two editions of “Amici”, too. In November 2007 Stefano takes part to an ALAIN CARON’s clinic in Bologna. From autumn 2008 it's the bassist of FABIO CONCATO. Moreover he played with: Montefiori Cocktail, Paola Fabris Group, Joy Salinas,, Stefano Paolini, Giuseppe Zanca, Simone La Maida, Alessandro Scala, Chicco Montefiori, Stefano Serafini, Massimuiliano Rocchetta, Massimo Ferri, Christian Capiozzo, Tommy Graziani, Corrado Cacciaguerra, Luca Meneghello, Fabio Giovanni Malacarne, Luca Piccari, Luca Villani, Max Castri, Innasense, Francesca Romana, Amarcord. In 1991 the bassist began to teach with great passion in many different schools of music in Romagna, using the most widespread methods and videos and elaborating his own material. At the moment he teaches at COSASCUOLA which are both in Forlì and Cesena. Stefano Casali uses LEGG basses.
