I love life and I do my best to enjoy it as much as I possibly can, but sometimes it really can be a pain in the arse. I place a lot of value in friendships, but honestly don't go out a huge amount because I'm something of a homebody. I do those things that make me happy, that are exciting, or that have meaning to me, and I hold my personal honor quite dear. I can be deadly serious or a complete goof-ball, depending.
I'm a professional graphic designer and illustrator, working the obligatory day job and currently doing freelance work under the name Morrigan Creative. Past and present freelance work has included The Great Plains Renaissance Festival, local Rocky Horror Picture Show events, Dark Side of the Rainbow, The Big O Con, and the 1st Anime Fest Wichita...all of which I also participated in or helped put on in some fashion.
However, the biggest endeavor I've undertaken of late has been self-publishing a comic book with my writing partner R.J. Huggins... something we've both always wanted to do. The first issue of "Saga: Dawn of the New Viking Age" came out in November 2006 and is available through www.blackravensaga.com
or www.myspace.com/blackravencomics . The second issue should be completed ...well, it SHOULD be done in January of 2008, in time for the Estrella War and Gulf Wars. We've had a few delays.
Among other things that keep me from having any free time whatsoever, I participate in medieval re-creation with the Society for Creative Anachronism -- going by the name Lord Corrigan MacKenzie -- doing research and sewing garb for myself and others, armored combat, and illuminating the occasional scroll. I'm also a past Seneschal of the Barony of Vatavia, in the Kingdom of Calontir. After a years near-inactivity, I hope to be actively playing SCA again soon.
I've a great thirst for knowledge of the ancient and medieval world, as well as religion and mythology and philosophy (particularly Ayn Rand). I love art and art history, and I enjoy nothing better than walking through a huge museum...except maybe reading a good book.
Oh yeah, and I've been known to babble on and on. Just tell me to shut up.

My Interests

The Society for Creative Anachronism, armored combat, living history, illustration, graphic design, Judaism, comic books, fine art, European & Japanese art history, 19th & 20th century fantasy art, costuming, Objectivism, medieval history (esp. Scottish, Norse, & Hebrew), religion, old west lore, angelology & demonology, jets & aircraft, architecture, travel, ethnic foods (sushi, Mexican, Indian, Medit., Ethiopian, haggis), hot tea, cooking, Scotch whiskey, a good cigar, red hair, dirty martinis, Greek & Norse mythology, werewolves, tattoos, Korean martial arts, the only professional sport I like--hockey, and the impossible attempt to be lazy. Then there are my disturbing fascinations with murder ballads, zombies, and the Cthulhu Mythos. And cheese. Go figure.

Well hell, if I could meet anyone it would be Albrect Durer, but he's been dust for several centuries. Ayn Rand is dead too, damn it. Alright then, Alyson Hannigan. But as for mere mortals...as long as you aren't a bigot or a total wanker...you're OK with me.
