About Me

It's tough talking about yourself; almost like self-induced schizophrenia, or trying to photograph motion or a shadow as the object that gave birth to the perception races past whatever mirror or pond tried to hold the image for more than a second.I'm an artist. If you know anything about art or the people obsessed by it, that says it all. I'm a study in opposites: solid about some things, fluid in others. I believe in God and I hope God believes in me. I love paintings that ripple with color, and black-and-white drawings done in ink or scratchboard. I can appreciate people who live and die by the principles they learned as children, and I can respect individuals whose minds are like flowing water--always changing, adapting, embracing new ideas and seeking fresh form.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Just about anyone who understands the brevity of life and the value and excitement of personal experience. I've been a solitary man (thanx Neil Diamond) most of my life. There's a big difference between being alone and being lonely. I'm used to the former but tired of the latter.I'd like to meet kindred spirits: people who love the snap and crackle and taste of words in their mouths, like poets and writers and lyricists of every description. And people for whom the visual arts aren't just a hobby or passing fancy, but as essential as food in their bellies or wine in their throats. And if anything on this page seems a bit impious or over-the-top, three words: get over it.

People Are Strange

I was sitting at my usual table a few months ago at Java Joe's Coffeeshop (one of the truly great spiritual meccas of this city), sipping some spring-water and watching the mellow light of late autumn...

A Crisis Without A Conscience

Writing a blog is a new thing for me.  I've never felt the urge to write anything that was intended for more than one person to read, which may explain why I've never had...
