a rock & roll combo

About Me

Formed as a trio in the first moments of the new Millennium, The Winona's found inspiration in the greats - Chuck Berry, The Beatles, Elvis, The Stones, James Brown, The Beach Boys, Booker T, etc. Their first ep "The Winonas" was recorded on a four-track and featured the original "You're the Cure For What I Got" plus 2 covers. Their first shows were at Lili's 21 and The Gold Dollar. Eventually, the band played many Detroit bars including Lager House, Small's, The Belmont and Lili's next incarnation, The Painted Lady. They also had the privilege of playing a couple Blowouts and The Motor City Music Conference. The Winonas' first real studio effort, an ep called "Keystone State" was released in 2004. Nice things were written about it in Detroit weeklies and it received a surprising amount of airplay. The Winonas recently released their five song ep, One Day We'll Get It Together... availble soon on CD Baby and other on-line distributors! I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
