First of all , much love and respect goes out to
Robert Russell McCall, a VERY talented artist/photographer whom I recommend to anyone who wants their soul set down in 2 dimensional form. If you see photos of me that look really good, he did them.
Now.....I am a musician who plays electric bass, guitar, piano, percussion, and I also sing lead and harmony. One of my main goals in life, as yet unrealized, is to make my living entirely from music. Unrealized, even though I have played for a total of 28 years, 23 professionally. That means I got a little bit of money from performing music since I was 17...But started playing at 12 years old. If you are an aspiring musician, please let me pass on some great advice from my father, which went, in part, "Have fun! I hope you do well! But learn a marketable skill in the meantime, because you will NEED a day job if you are going to be a musician!". I didn't want to listen to him then, and have spent a lot of time wishing I had listened in the meantime. I spent 5 years in Nashville working all day and playing all night.... and have some neat memories from it. I've played in bands at Ceaser's Palace in Las Vegas 3 times, opened for Vince Gill, Slaughter, Warrant, and Quiet Riot. I've jammed at the Fiddle & Steel Bar in Nashville, and played a few gigs with Doug Stone, and Jeff Bates. You may or may not know these names, but I do. Other favorite artists I've played with include Tina Wing, Keith Thomas, Richard Bourk, Jay Ecker, Josh Michaels Bertrand, Rick Brothers, Chet Hinesley, Seidina Reed, Chris Dile, John Prestia, Jamie LaRitz, Ed Smoak, Carrie Folks, Jason Ashley, Aaron Holt, Mike Leblanc, Billy Cormier, Scotty Eades, Robert Frith, Laura Darling, Jason Granger, Doug Veron (RIP), Chester Daigle, Bob Bowers,Trip Wamsley, Brad Burrows, Donnie Wold, ... and the list goes on. If you're wondering, I use Curt Mangan bass strings. They sound wonderful, and last a while, too!
