About Me
Brent Rodgers a 35 year old native of Lake Charles, Louisianna arrived in Nashville in March 2003. In November of 2003, he secured a publishing deal with Carnival Music, an independent publishing concern headed up by Frank Liddell, and Travis Hill, two guys with a reputation for appreciating the edgier side of country music.Still new in town, and wanting to ,"get out there...", Rodgers spent the next several months playing, meeting other songwriters, and generally making the rounds of the Nashville singer/songwriter circuit...people were taking notice..."Seemed like I was everywhere at once that first year or so...". said Rodgers, "I don't think I got much sleep, but I made a lot of great friends, and I wrote a lot of songs..."During this time, Rodgers was writing with several well-known, music-row songwriters...Lisa Carver, Mark Stephen Jones, Marty Brown, Jamie Paulin, Robert Wolf, Jennifer Kennard, Mary Hartman, Raymond Bradberry, Tony Lane, David Lee, Deirdre Wilson, Trent Jeffcoat, Cory Mayo, Mando Saenz, and the list really DOES go on and on and on...Brent was also able to gig at some of the premier "listening rooms" in Nashville, and quickly became a favorite at several of these establishments, including Douglass Corner, The Hall Of Fame Lounge, The Commodore, and the world famous Bluebird...In 2007, Brent was rewarded with his first major label cut...FLYNNVILLE TRAINS', "NOWHERE THAN SOMEWHERE", a song he co-wrote with songwriting industry legend, Craig Wiseman... "I've been very fortunate in Tennessee...met, and written with some great folks..."said Rodgers.Rodgers' musical influences include a very wide range of artists, and styles, filtered through his own unique voice, and the voice of the Louisiana culture he grew up in. Blues, pop, country, and bluegrass music, mingle with rock n roll, chank a chank, and gospel, to create his personal groove.Plans are in the works for a studio project... Frank Liddell will be producing the effort, and it should be a kick.As a performer, Rodgers is able to draw on all these influences, to come up with a totally original take on Americana/country rock music. Blessed with a unique and absolutely soulful smoke filled voice, and guitar skills in spades, his sets are consistently among the fireyest in Nashville.
