Spinning records since 1999, JerseyBoy has gained an understanding of House Music that can only come with time and experience behind the decks. His high-energy mixes have started to get some recognition in the Carolina’s thanks to Stillill Entertainment, who expanded their production company to include House Music DJ’s by bringing on High Jack in 2005. With his commitment to bring funky House Music to the South, JerseyBoy’s production company, Five12 Productions , along side Stillill Entertainment , is on the hunt for quality DJ’s in all genres of techno to put Charleston back on the EDM map. "Techno music is not all about drugs, it’s about feelin the vibe, it’s about being inside the groove, dancing like it’s your last night on Earth! It’s about letting the beats grab you and make you move and shake your ass! You cannot help but feel good! Why listen to the same 40 songs you hear everyday, everywhere you go over and over? Why not hear something new everytime you go out and dance?" With a new company in the works, JerseyBoy and partners will soon revolutionize the way Charleston sees techno music events by presenting quality DJ’s and live acts along side local and regional artists, dancers, interpretation, and mind blowing visuals to achieve a complete sensory experience in an atmosphere that is classy and fun. Thanks to the Charleston Social Group, JerseyBoy made his return to the Charleston music scene on December 15, 2006 at City Bar’s Jingle Ball. After a 2 year break from mix production, JerseyBoy brought a set that was both bumpin and funky. Determined to keep House Music alive in the South, JerseyBoy has joined Stillill Entertainment, a group of local, regional, and national DJ’s based out of Charleston that includes Charleston’s "King of Clubs" DJ N8 , Producer/DJ Abraxas , the Ludlum Brothers , and House Music DJ/Producer High Jack . Together, their plan is simple...bring the people of Charleston quality, original mixes in all genres of techno music, mixes that will not only earn your respect, but will leave you beggin for more. "It is only a matter of time now before the EDM community starts talkin about the talent coming up in Charleston. We will not stop until we reach that goal!"

A little history: JerseyBoy bought his turntables in 1999, in his last year of college in Pittsburgh, PA. His early venues were house parties where he came up with some great local Pittsburgh DJ’s like Scuba Steve, Subq, Roess Reddick, Colin Pierce, Joey Bananas, Eviction, Disco Dan, Bill Powers, and DJ Tito. It wasn’t too long before JerseyBoy was playing smaller local venues in Pittsburgh’s legendary Strip District and South Side, and eventually bigger venues like Area 51 and The Connely Club. Eventually forming the Pittsburgh based 512 Productions , JerseyBoy and other local DJ’s began throwing their our own party events. JerseyBoy was featured along side Pittsburgh’s own Joey Bananas on WRCT 88.3 FM out of Carnagie Mellon University. The goal of the original 512 Productions of Pittsburgh was to get some of the local talent out there for the mases to enjoy. In 2001, JerseyBoy produced and released his first mix CD titled The Beginning that was a mix of UK Hard House and harder Progressive House. A year later, he released his second mix, titled Freedom , which marked JerseyBoy’s first step into true Chicago-style House Music . Included in the mix are some great tracks by Antoine Clamaran, some funky remixes by the master of remixes, Olav Basoski, and some original use of acapellas. Freedom was on its way to getting JerseyBoy established in Pittsburgh’s EDM scene and was submitted to Pittsburgh’s legendary tag team DJ’s and promoters The Zelch Brothers in hopes of getting JerseyBoy on the line-up with some of the national talent playing Groove at Club Laga. But tragedy was soon to come...On November 8, 2001, JerseyBoy lost his Father to lung cancer and his world was rocked to the ground. It was a sobering time in his life, one that brought him back to his home town of Hopatcong, New Jersey early in 2002. Without any connections in Jersey’s techno scene, and during a time when it seemed like everyone wanted to be a DJ, JerseyBoy’s music career was put on hold. Going back to spinnin for himself and his friends, JerseyBoy healed through House Music and just got better at what he does behind the decks.
After almost 2 years in Jersey, it wasn’t long before this House DJ decided to move South and relocate in Charleston . Soon after getting here, JerseyBoy dug into the scene head first, only to find that it seemed like he had missed the techno revolution in Charleston. It had come, and gone, too abrasive perhaps for this somewhat traditional city. Discovering that Pantheon was the only real choice in terms of a venue that supported good techno music, JerseyBoy arranged to meet DJ David Smith, and quickly realized that he wasn’t going to be able to walk into any club here and get a gig. He knew he would have to start at the bottom again, and that is exactly what he did...After being given the opportunity to spin at Mellow Mushroom on King Street with local talents DJ Destruction and DJ Shatter, JerseyBoy and friends quickly formed Electro Alliance , a production company committed to bringing quality, original music and mixes to the people of Charleston. It wasn’t long before they were holding weekly events at Mellow Mushroom, Johnson’s Pub, and the legendary Wasabi in the Market. The focus of the events was on originality and fresh grooves primarily in the genres of house and breaks, as well as some original hip hop flow from local MC’s. However, as time went by, the crowds thinned out. Without any real place for dancing in these smaller bars, the music was not right for the venues. Eventually, the company dissolved, DJ Destruction moved to Atlanta, and DJ Shatter moved back inland. Fast Forward almost two years...JerseyBoy’s commitment to House Music , and all genres of techno has never been stronger. "I think the people of Charleston need a change and our bigger venues will slowly accept the fact that if you want your club to rival any club in any other city, you need to open your doors to different events and different music." 2007 is here and with a new company in the works, JerseyBoy hopes to make this the year in which House Music, and all genres of techno, finally get the respect they deserve in Charleston. If you are interested in hearing any of JerseyBoy’s mixes, there are several you can download directly from this page.
