Duwayne Motley and Overnight Sensation are two of the same musical concepts that have slowly come into fruition in the last five years. Their rudiments extend to the shores of Massachusetts during the mid to late nineties. While attending law school, Kevin Smith a.k.a SLIM had worked hard to attain status in the "disc jockey" community in Charleston, SC. His music companions: “Russ the house mouse” and “Randy little boy candy” held a successful residency known as “groovers” circa 1994. While the success of groovers took place in Charleston, the same House music events were booming in the city of Atlanta, Georgia. During this time, a tall lanky Dutch/Mexican was making strides through the ‘status quo’ of the RAVE scene. His dancing creativity fueled the dance floors and he devoured the music like corn pops. Both Kevin and Arturo would reside in Boston, MA during the same exact time.In 1997 Kevin and Arturo met. Kevin attending law school had ties with Arturo’s roommate in Boston. A short and stalky Italian named Graham. However, they were not aware of this at the time. They were both in great surprise when they found out that they knew the same people in Atlanta.It was a damp and rainy Friday. The evening came quick as the light was minimal. Kevin and Arturo were formerly introduced in a damp and cold smelly room. There was a strong affinity between the two. The epoch we had all once cared, as the "rave scene" was primarily dead in the New England region at the time that Kevin and Arturo Gomez met.Then, a birth of a night called BUMP was born in Cambridge, MA on November 3, 2001. However, it was not until April of 2002 that Overnight Sensation aka ARTURO was getting recognition for his ability to mix various subsidiary genres of house music at clubs, bars, private parties and radio stations.While in Boston, MA he met the likes of Troydon, Marko Militano and Tari Litz (Trademarq). Where they would all share the same passion for the music we all love avidly. HOUSE!!With the right elements in both affinity for one another and with the same likes in music, Arturo and Kevin (Duwayne Motley) began working on making their own beats. Kevin resides back home in Charleston, SC, where he occupies as a "legal advisor" by day and producer/father by night.They both began a project named DUWAYNE MOTLEY in 2005. Which they work on projects from time to time. Recently, they are both beginning to get recognition for all their hard work. Arturo resides in Nashville, TN. His focus is strictly devoted to this music and devotes the other part of his time to his work as a graphic design artist. I created my layout at KillerKiwi.net
