My love for music started very early. I was raised on classic rock and classical. However as I grew older I began to stray from the norm when it came to listening to popular music. In my adolescent years in Orlando, FL I used to stay up on saturday nights and listen to the dance mixes that the local radio DJs would play. Although it was mainstream dancemusic ie: Robin S, Crystal Waters....it instilled a desire for more and began a stir inside me for something new and different. Now at the same time in downtown Orlando legendary DJs Kimball Collins, Dave Cannalte, Robby Clark, Andy Hughes, and Icee were bringing massess together at club nights in the Beacham Theater, Aahz!, Barberella, and the Abyss. Id hear songs on the saturday late nite radio shows that these DJs would hammer in their clubs that managed to filter their way onto late nite local radio shows. It wouldn't be until later in life that I learned many of the songs I was grooving to were from some of these clubs. I feel fortunate to be a small part (in my own mind) of a movement of early progressive house that had begun in southern/central Fl and LA during that time. Soon it would start to spread out west. I feel I was a part of it, eventho I wasnt at these clubs having life-changing experiences, I was indirectly hearing fresh, innovative dancemusic.
A few years later and a few years older I moved to Gainesville to attend High School. It was here when I attended my first full scale event, The Annual Alachua County Music Harvest. I was blown away. Breakbeat/HOUSE DJs from all over the southeast layin down for 3 straight days. It changed my life forever. From then on I was obsessed with learning, finding, listening to all types of electronic music. Once this movement began inside me I learned of groups like Depeche Mode who had been revolutionizing the sound of electronic music in the 80's. Finally I discovered Daft Punk. These two French producers coined their own sound that started a trend for all filtered house producers. I heard the second single 'revolution 909' off their 'Homework' album. This single song pulled me in hook line and sinker. It was down hill from there. The foundation was being layed from this point on.
Soon after this eye opening experience I snuck into Club Simons to witness what real DJs did best. Letting loose on the floor was the release and passion I was looking for back in Orlando hearing the clubtunes on the radio. I soon moved to Charlotte, NC where the rave-scene was in full force and I wanted to be part of it. So I managed to befriend a few local DJs and began my education. These DJs were my teachers. DJs MEZMER, FUZZ, Str8jakit had all been DJing and producing music for almost 10 years at this point and I was the eager student to learn all they were able to teach. My love for HOUSEmusic was stronger than ever and I wanted to express this love and passion somehow to all that I met. The next logical step was to learn the art of mixing. So i scrapped up some cheddar and bought my set of 1200s and a numark3 channel. The next 3 years were spent staying up all night mixing and partying on the weekends. As one can might imagine, my parents werent too happy with my lack of desire for real schooling, so I took a break from college and spent even more time behind the decks and more time on the dancefloor.

Over the course of those 3 years DJ Mezmer and I drove all across the east coast to gigs in DC, Detroit, Roanoke, Greensboro, Greenville, SC/NC, Asheville, Atlanta, Raleigh, Tennessee, you name it he & I were there. The time I spent in the booths with him while he demolished dancefloors were some of the most emotional times I have ever experienced in my life. Soon after I moved to Charleston, SC where I became the only HOUSE DJ of Stillill Entertainment. In 2003 I won the Globe Theater Closing party DJ Contest, beating out breakbeat DJs, and Jungle DJs from all across Atlanta. Working strictly on production, expect releases out on MEZMER's Capsule Recordings, as well as Footwerk Music Group in the coming years. Check my blog for updates on special events and upcoming releases.

My Interests

HOUSE-DJing, art (low brow shit/tattoo culture), illustration/design, unsafe practices.

I'd like to meet:

Like minded people. People who aren't afraid to be themselves. People who can appreciate being different and unique and eccentric. Someone who shares my addiction to all types of art and HOUSEmusic. People who love rather than people who NEED to be loved constantly. I dont have time for people who always bring others down. People who don't buckle under pressure and are always down for you. People who are goal-oriented. Anyone with plans for the future.
