STRINGS OF AMERICA ARE :
HERNAN GAMBOA (VENEZUELA -plays CUATRO a small guitarlike instrument of Latin America, usually having four single nylon strings .Cuatro means four in spanish.) : He was born in San Tomé, in the State of Anzoategui, located in the eastern part of Venezuela and is the person who has introduced the Cuatro to the world, playing in more than 60 countries of America, Europe and Asia. He has given concerts in all of those countries, and appeared in numerous and important festivals, theaters and Universities. At fifteen Hernán had created a technique of playing the Cuatro called “Rasgapunteoâ€. This technique consists of a particular way to play the instrument through the melody, the harmony and the rhythm at the moment of performing a composition.
JAIME TORRES (ARGENTINA -plays CHARANGO a small South American guitar (Andean folk instrument) made from the shell of an armadillo or similar animal and having five sets of paired strings). Jaime Torres was born in the Northern city of San Miguel de Tucumán, Republica Argentina but the purest period in the artist’s life – his childhood-, he spent at Chimba Chica, in the colorful valley of Cochabamba, Bolivia. It is there that is spirit feeds on the telluric experiences which, in ensuing periods of his musical life, will crop up from the elves that dwell in his charango. Throughout his prolific career, the maestro Jaime Torres has been afforded quite a number of acknowledgements and awards on his work with his band & playing "Misa Criolla" At present, he is still giving concerts throughout Argentina and in the main European cities of Japan and also London, Buenos Aires and Singapore
LUCHO GONZALEZ (PERU -plays GUITAR-) Lucho Gonzalez is one of the most renowned guitar players around South American's music. His first profesional work was at the age 22 playing with Chabuca Granda. He was born in Peru. He worked with Los Hijos del Sol (The children of the sun), a collaborative experience formed by Peruvian musicians residing in foreign countries. Los Hijos del Sol represents a conglomerate all-star cast of Peruvian musicians reunited with the purpose of refreshing and promoting Peruvian music for the world.
