Antiquity is the unit of measurement that defines a species celestial reign. For example human antiquity is thousands of years old now and may eventually reach the far corners of the universe. With a word and a voice, a guitar, an amp and a peice of paper and a pen for the determination and drive of the ingredients for the sickening Death Grind sound Of Antiquity. It all started as early as 1997 from a young 16 year old named Keith Rogge. Keith Rogge is the creator of the band and the only original member. He is the one who keeps the band going by unveiling more and more material from a back log of unfinished songs. This is his contibution: "The name "Of Antiquity" is taken from the Goat of Mendes legend, "The Bearded Horned Goat hailed as, " Of Antiquity" also known as the "Goat of Mendes" The "Goat of Mendes" represents a dawn of a new era which is the meaning and purpose of the band. When your idols and heroes that you immortalized are finally finished who are you going to look up to now? We bring life and material into a world full of writer's block and boundaries where we take out your way, your rules and we break limitations. The name of the band fitted perfectly with the sound and style They play because it can be, "quite ancient sounding at times melodic and yet medieval but very death metal and black/death", but with really crazy solos. Of Antiquity would like to think they have somewhat of an evil sound and compliment each other in some of the material and song structure arrangements."
