It has taken me some time, but I'm getting there, I have been singing for as long as I can recall. ...i'll explain, growing up in a small town in the Lake District, everything there seemed to be running in slow motion, even the sheep seemed to baaah! with slow vibrato! ha ha!......the music scene was non existent, and my Parents were not big fans, so all I had as an influence was Top of The Pops for half an hour on a Sunday night! also a friend of mine had the Grease Album...so we spent hours singing along to that... A major breakthrough came When I was 10, for my Birthday I got a `Wireless', It had a leather casing it was ver swanky!, it was the best thing that happened to me..... apart from the fact that most of the time I could only tune in to Radio Luxemburg! but on other occassions my radio would blast out the sounds of a Marvin Gaye, Aretha, Karen Carpenter, and so on, I would lock myself away with my Radio. I had 2 sisters and a brother, very often we would sit and sing the four of us, and somehow I just Knew how to harmonise, I still now go for the 3rd or the 5th without even thinking! I turned 11 years old and we were moved to manchester, I was at my aunts house, whilst she and my mother were chatting over a Brandy, I discovered a heap of Vinyls sitting in the corner of her lounge, the first one on the pile was Fleetwood mac, Rumours Album.....to this date it is still my favourite, I took the Album Home (without asking ..ooops! I now have my own Copy and returned that one...lol) and listened and listened, I knew that singing and music was my life, since then I have been in Bands, Duos, I have also performed as a Kylie and Shania Twain Tribute, I have a alot of soul in my performances and cannot possibly imagine a time where I have not sang, or will not sing! I am getting quite good on guitar too, It has brought out my writing flow, so pretty soon I will be recording my songs for you to have a listen to, so watch out for them!! thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little!
