"When I sit down to write, I don’t know what will happen—but I know it’s going to be real,” says singer-songwriter Trish McCabe.McCabe’s work reflects a passion for pop music with substance and integrity. The kind of music that kept her awake at night: the rock of the late ’60s and ’70s, Motown, the British Invasion, America, Elton John.Melodic and accessible, her gracefully wrought compositions reveal a devotion to the craft of serious songwriting. Onstage, she favors a stripped-down, intimate acoustic approach that allows her smoky-soulful voice to peel back layers of meaning in the material, turning each live performance into a fresh exploration of her work.Raised in Orange, California, McCabe credits her love of music to the influence of her jazz/pop drummer father, who exposed her to every conceivable genre and inspired her to mimic favorite singers almost as soon as she could speak.
